Pulev quite inactive for a while, only fighting old and shot fighters, no idea if he has something left vs rapidly declining Dimitrenko who only won via DQ vs Rovcanin although it was a draw on the cards .... I am not excited tbh. But Pulev should win.
I was pretty much expecting something like this looking at the IBF rankings the 3rd, 4th and 6th guys already turned him down, the 5th ranked guys is Povetkin and will be fighting Joshua soon and even if he wasn't no way Povetkin accepts 25% to fight Pulev. That left Takam and Dimitrenko at 7th and 8th. Dimitrenko obviously is the easier option having beaten him already and more likely to accept 25% than Takam. Normally the IBF would probably not agree to this but they don't have much choice as nobody wants to fight Pulev. Not sure why it would be in the US though.
Dimitrinko, the way he lay down against Jo Parker was disgusting. He can not come back and fight as a credible opponent ever again after capitulating like that.
I hope Dimitrenko pulls off a lucky punch and wins just for the chance that somebody will create a long and detailed thread about why and how Dimitrenko will brutally knock Joshua out.
better than Chuckles Martin at ibf #9 but I am surprised it's not Takam. I assume Miller has other options.
Pulev's management scraping the bottom of the barrel again. They just refuse to put any money towards getting him good fights.
Absolutely dreadful matchup. Dimitrenko has no business being in a final eliminator. Why wouldn't Takam have been interested? It's not like he's got a ton of better offers right now. And I'd give Takam a solid shot of winning, maybe 40%. They would have had to check with him first right, since he's ranked higher? They can't be that corrupt that they can get away with just bypassing him without offering him the fight, right?
Miller already turned it down earlier in the year when the IBF mandated Pulev/Miller as an eliminator. Miller knows Hearn wants to showcase Joshua against him in the US, if there's a possibility of that he won't turn down a big payday by losing to Pulev.
I'd say typical Pulev opponent, but it was Whyte that pulled out after Epic Sports won the pursebid at $1.5M It would have been in Bulgaria due to that.
