Pulev and Sauerland too poor to pay sanctioning fees.

I saw that on a Japanese site and wondered if I was just translating it badly, holy **** is pretty much my only real response.

    No wonder.

Kubrat Pulev hasn't fought much in the past 2 years, waiting for Wlad to man up and fight him, instead of taking easier mandatory like Leapai first.

    He's had little income.

As long as he'd win one title is pretty much all that matters. The glory won't come from holding the belts, it will come from beating Klitschko...

It must be discouraging going into a Klitschko fight knowing there is always a rematch clause. So basically he'd be forced to pay the WBA/WBO fees again immediately in a fight that Pulev wouldn't make any more (or much more) money for than the first go around.

The WBA/WBO would be stoked to put them up to the highest bidder if they were vacated. Seems like a win/win for everyone to me, honestly.

Pulev is the mandatory, so no rematch clause.

    Say WHAT?!
If Pulev or anyone else beat the champ, the rematch would be HUGE.

Looks like Wlad has all his bases covered, even if he somehow loses he'll still have a titles to defend and to use as leverage in a rematch. From the reduced mandatory purse which is unheard of, only one title on the line , press conference shenanigans and home crowd advantage he's bossed the negotiations and build up to this fight. I expect the same in the actual fight.

They'll be vacant if the unthinkable happens.
This isn't the 1st time this has happened, and it won't be the last time.

Sauerland is a joke. Pulev would be well-advised to ditch them first thing Monday morning and put his career back on track. New management, maybe new trainer we will see how badly he loses Saturday night.

Doesnt matter what belt its for. If Pulev were to win, and he wont, he would be the heavyweight champion. Paper titles dont make you the champion, beating the man does.

Correct me if im wrong , but don't you only pay pay sanctioning fees to the bodies if you're holding their titles?

Pulev could win , then relinquish them if he can't pay. Buut surely he could pay from the massive purse he'd make from the rematch.

Something not right here. L2 low balling again id imagine.
