Good evening guys! Everyone here knows who Kubrat Pulev is, but today I decided to explain you how he actually is a moneymaking machine. First of all he is from Bulgaria and 1 million is a lot. In the end of 2014 we saw Klitschko vs Pulev. Pulev won more than 1,5 million dollars from this fight. He was soundly beaten in what most people call the best fight of Klitschko in the last years. Well in this fight actually the only thing that was horrible was Pulev's defense. He looked motivated, there were a lot of flames before the fight, but in the end he lost. After a year of recovering he was back against George Arias and Maurice Harris. Those fights were fine if you take in mind the knockdowns and the shots he survived before. Pulev just needed to get his confidence back and I think he did. In 2016 he faced Chisora and if you have seen the fight , it was far away from Split Decision. I don't know what drugs was the Swiss judge taking on this day but... Anyways a good comeback against a good name. Kubrat Pulev took more than half a million dollars for this fight. You can check the highlights to see actually how effective is the jab of Pulev. It is incredibly rare and I would strongly say that after Klitschko retired there isn't a better jab. Simply the two general names in the division - Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder don't use their jabs at all and rely on their power. Then everyone expected from Pulev that he will go further and step up more with someone from Top 10, but the things turned the other way around. I am sure that Pulev is surrounded by smart people which saw the chance of making his first fight in his home - Sofia, Bulgaria. Whooah, what can I say... this was a brilliant plan. You have no idea what a huge interest the fight caused in Bulgaria. Random people were told that it's the first time Bulgaria will hold a World Title Fight. Yes guys you read right - it was the WBA Inter-Continental Heavyweight Title on the stack against Samuel Peters. Well all the casuals had no idea that this title is one of the 50 useless titles which you can use for whipping your butt. It was quickly sold out and it was super expensive - around 300 dollars for the front rows. Well around the same time of the year Lomachenko was selling front row tickets for around 200 bucks in the US. The event gained popularity and there had to be another event coming - the one with Kevin Johnson. I didn't expect anyone good showing up in Sofia. It was impossible for Pulev to lose at his home so the perfect choice was made - two old guys past their primes. All the Bulgarian media were mentioning how Peters and Johnson fought for World Titles and how good are they. It was very funny for me, but for Pulev it was the perfect way to fill his pockets with money. There aren't any official stats how much exactly Pulev won in Bulgaria, but I am pretty sure they are around one million dollars or even more. And here we are in 2017. Pulev was going to make 5 million in his biggest payday against Joshua but he got injured. There were a lot of opinions that he faked the injury, that he was afraid and many more. I can't say what exactly happened but one thing is clear - Pulev will probably fight in the beginning of the next year against Fres Oquendo in Chicago for the WBA regular title. Again a great plan - instead of getting beaten by Joshua, he takes his time to make some more money and the most important thing is to gain fame. I have no doubts Pulev will win against Oquendo and make tons of money because of the location of this fight. In Chicago there are over 400 000 legal Bulgarians , if we count the illegal they might be around million. He will sell out the whole place for sure. Also WBA will ensure him good money too. Once he wins the title, he will be the first ever Bulgarian to become a world champion in the professionals. That means a lot for the country and everyone will be curious to see the champion again fighting in Sofia, Bulgaria. This is a great ensurance for Pulev because I don't think Joshua will fight him anytime soon, but he will for sure in the next two years. As a world champion he can sell way easier the venues in Bulgaria. To earn millions from sports in Bulgaria is insane but Pulev does it perfectly well! This is an example how an average boxer with decent skills can make **** tons of money just because he knows how to manage his steps. He is not even that famous outside of Bulgaria but still sells himself as a good product.
Pulev is a crafty son of a *****...but Fres will put a stop to this ****** business! Why is mankey with an O a censored word??
i kno i was thinking wat a smart move by pulev. fight fres for a belt insteas of aj for a belt. and once he gets the belt he can pick his opponents carefully like the other guys did. pick winnable fight like amir mansour and charles martin.. who else is out there for him to breazale or sumthing like that.
Certain folks go ballistic if you call them mankeys. Seriously they dribble with rage. I had a friend once who used his mankey on his sister's best friend with devastating results. He's still paying for it today. Court is not cheap, my friend. Wait. What was I saying again?
he has become a spoiler since the klitchko fight / but is still a good fighter with good fundamentals but he is not good tv to watch /albeit in bulgaria it is understandably more about the win and the prestiege of having a bulgarian champ. oquendo will be 45 next year will not have fought in 4 years and the WBA will be sad they ranked him in the first place as he has held them hostage since thwe chagaev fight. oquendo has told team pulev that he needs 8 months training and a zimmer frame for his ring walk.
