    fury is not ****
pulev is a spoiler and with exception of joshua/ wilder /ortiz/povetkin the devisions biggest punchers which i think is the key to beating pulev he is difficult to beat

losing a fight does not make a fighter ****

yes he has a lot of work to do but he has the fundamentals of being a good heavy with o good chin.

he needs strict discipline boxing trainer/ nutrionist/ personal trainer / but most of all ambition and will to win and willing to put 100% into it to get the best out of himself.

talent without the hard work and he will be as you say a domestic fighter / but he clearly has abilty just not a good boxing brain or a corner insrtucting him well in what he should do.

at 24 he has 10 years to improve

It wasn't the best fight to watch, but it wasn't the worse as well. Pulev got his job done. As i predicted by wide UD. He did it more convincingly than Parker did. At age of 37 he schooled Fury who has rather inconvenient style of fighting. Pulev has tiny chances against AJ and moderate against Wilder as they got the power to drop him cold, but I can't see how someone with less power than those two beats him on points.

I agree about him not having a good boxing brain. His performance again like in the Parker fight was poor, all the things he's good at he abandoned, where was the jab and the movement? Yes the cut changed things and added a sense of urgency that wasn't required before but once the cut was under control he never got back to his usual style of boxing, he again mentally folded under the pressure and fought below his usual standard. This happening once I can understand especially at his age but it's happened twice now.

He needs to go back to the drawing board, much like Parker needs to after his recent losses. Hughie at the moment doesn't have all the tools to succeed at this level. As you say he needs a better trainer to get him in the kind of shape you'd expect of an elite athlete. He doesn't look like an athlete, his conditioning was poor, he was physically dominated by Pulev and I suspect that will always happen at this level for a 235lbs athlete he looked weak.

Youth is on his side, but he can't afford many more losses, he doesn't have a big fan base or a big promoter, he won't get many more chances at this level.

Hughie only just learned how to throw his right hand against Sexton, why are you expecting him to learn the much more advanced left hook technique in so little time?

Baby steps, Black Clouds, baby steps. We'll see Joshua vs. Wilder before we see Hughie throw a left hook.

He doesnt need one bc Finkel last month said they will not fight Joshua next.

On top of that the odds Fury is going to win is more then good so Joshua has no need of Wilder he'll fight Pulev or anyone not named Wilder or Fury in 2019...

TWO jokers one is just not as much and that guy doesn't have a belt ! :periodico:

Not sure how you U.K guys viewed this but what fight was the commentators watching ?

They claimed the fight was razor close around the 6th round, they kept addressing how close its going down the stretch?

I gave Hughie the 3 and 8 rounds that's it.

I scored it the second time watching it!

Not hard at all to score Pulev drains another guy and did it with actual punches not just fighting ugly .leg

    Razor close ? o_O

I must admit that did cross my mind IBF doesn't mandate VADA testing like the WBC and WBA, Pulev looked to be the best shape in a while too and this is boxing where we've had a lot of people caught doping or being suspected of doping due to weird circumstances like needing an IV.

I gave Hughie the same rounds you did and the first round a draw but for me Pulev won every other round it was not close at all.

Manuel Charr was ringside and he challenged Pulev after the fight. So either him if they lift the suspension on him or Dinu if he gets the win over Miller for the next Pulev's opponent, which probably will be in march/april in Chicago, as he waits for the AJ fight to happen.
