This one perhaps slipped under the radar a bit, but was announced last week. Japanese Super Banatamweight champion Yusaku Kuga (16-2-1, 11) will return to the ring on July 27th to defend his title against former world title challenger Shingo Wake (24-5-2, 16).

This is a ****ing brilliant match up and should see the winner right up there for a world title fight!

Kuga is a bit of a crude slugger, Wake a technical southpaw sharp shooter. Style wise it will be compelling and could be a very entertaining clash of two well liked Japanese fighters at 122lbs. Winner could be in line to fight Danny Roman or Ryosuke Iwasa, who is a good friend of Wake's, and will see themselves along with Tomoki Kameda Hidenori Otake as the leading Japanese contenders for a shot at a world title.
