Very very small ring. Welliver is flabby...overweight. He keeps trying to lean on Fujimoto and tire him out but the ref won't allow it. Fujimoto threw way more punches.

 

Yeah how big was that ring? Loos like a slugger / swarmers wet dream.

He's only 5' 9" - he's got no future in the HW division. Kyotaro is 6' 0" and not built like a HW so Hidaka has a chance there. That second fight you posted contains the two smallest HWs I've seen (in recent times, anyway)

Seriously - yes, Kyotaro has decent skills but any reasonably skilled HW with decent power beats him. He's just too small - the feather-fisted Welliver was the perfect opponent - a feather-fisted, WBC ranked guy who would make Kyotaro look good.

 

No disrespect to Chanucy as seemed like a nice guy but man Messer was pumping him hard, it was a bit of joke that he got to hold onto his #15 WBC ranking..atsch

Chauncy made a mistake of takin this fight. The only way he coulda won was by Ko. The scorecards were already filled out before the bout took place and the Jap knew it so he fought a safety fight . It was kind of a cheap win in my book

If he wants to claim a big victory good for him. But lets see him fight outside of Japan for a change

 

Did anyone actually see the fight to know if it was close or not?

I don't expect Kyotaro to do much on the world scene. A respectable Japanese heavyweight is probably attraction enough, and from what little I've seen of him, he's no better than some other recent converts like Mark Di Mori and Sonny Bill Williams.
