I saw this guy last month headline the event Hollywood Bennett pulled out of. Looks very impressive, Anyone else seen / heard of him? Anyone heading to Panthers tonight, its a shame i'll miss seeing him again tonight cause of other plans, but if he keeps up his performances, he will be a very dangerous fighter.

There is a story in The Herald (Newcastle Herald) website about him.

I have yet to see him fight but I was speaking with a few people at the Mundine Clottey fight and his name came up. Apparently only had like 11 amateur fights but is a very impressive talent and works his ass off, a great combination. One to watch, from what I hear.

Kyron Dryden was robbed last Friday
And I've seen boxing for 25 years and this kid , he has something , he could be something , and is definately a TOP upcoming prospect I am yet to meet him yet but I've been told his a very bright , confident man, he also had fenech giving him words in the corner during some rounds ..
I've never seen such incompetent judging , yes by the end of the fight kyron was gassed and joel was coming in strong but kyron stayed composed and stayed in there he even In my oppinion won the 5th and 8th but he's never been 8 before and that's expected , but the fight was won in the first 4 rounds with kyron winning them all looking very sharp composed and putting great combinations together he hurt galea many times in the fight and no one seen it going the distance he dropped galea with a monsterous straight right, (4 rnds and a knockdown over 8 rnds is a victory right ???)
If that kid can take anything out of that fight it's he needs to be fitter in them longer fights, which I'm sure he will his never been 8 before and only one way to learn , don't lose his confidence over that because he was indeed robbed in my eyes but also every person that was there I spoke with many people after on there thoughts and they were all the same, how the hell did kyron lose that one
This fight definately needs to be reviewed or appealed

Yes I agree he was gassed come later rounds , but I believe if he can fight like he did in first 5 rounds all the way through , which should be an easy fix "conditioning" , this kid can be a real threat in Australian boxing he's only young 19-20 years of age , there's something about the kid I like , he's exciting and has KO power

Good top prospect would have dispatched Joel Galea within a couple of rounds. May be a good prospect in the gym, different story in the ring. Could be poor management stepping him into an 8 rounder this early

Being for the NSW state title the fight probably had to be over 8 rounds. But an 8 rounder 3rd fight up was always going to be a tough call for Dryden.

Agree, his handlers rushed him which is poor management at the end of the day needs a few more 4 rounders.

Yep , A lot would say it was poor management , after only 11 ameteur fights and 3 pro fights, to be put in a 8 rounder with the added pressure of it being a state title fight , well its a bit early and rushing the kid so no one can blame him for gassing out .

On the other hand , it sort of puts in perspective , just how good another Aussie boxer is / was , When after only 3 ameteur fights , and 12 pro fights , he was the AUSTRALIAN champion , beating a who's who of Australian boxing .

and after winning most rounds , he gassed and got stopped, in the 12th RND , in a WORLD TITLE fight , against a UNDEFEATED CHAMP . .

    Just Saying .

    Contest Requirements:

    1. Combat Sports Authority of NSW approval
    2. Payment of $300.00 sanction fee (includes belt where required)
    3. Current Australian State government registration
    4. Minimum State residence of three months
    5. Minimum of 6 x 3 round experience
NSW Authority no longer administers State title, ANBF NSW Branch does. Maybe it should adopt #5
