For all of you who have not yet heard Artur Kyshenko was stopped in the third round by a crecent kick to the body by Hinata the 31st of July at RISE 68 event. currently their is no video of the upset but Gaora is scheduled to air the show on 8/20. here is a report taken from the k1 website On July 31st, Artur Kyshenko and Hinata met up at RISE 68 held at Tokyo's Korakuen Hall. The following is a fight report of their incredible bout. It began with a war of words Kyshenko threw the first verbal blow at the press conference telling Hinata he should work out and build himself up more. He tried to soften the blow saying that he just meant that more power is always good, but the damage was done. Hinata took the jabs with a smile, but there was something lingering behind that smile. Something that said that Hinata would do his best to make Kyshenko eat those words. For Kyshenko, Hinata may have seemed like another notch on his belt, but for Hinata the fight was a chance to prove that though he wasn't chosen for MAX's Final 16, he still was a world contender. The day of the fight, the crowd was getting restless as more and more fights went all the way to decision, but when heavyweight Uehara came from behind to win with a KO, the hall began to rock with excitement. As the night went on, each fight was more dramatic than the last and the fans were in a frenzy - primed for the final fight of the night - Hinata vs. Kyshenko. And then the gong rang out... Hinata has never been stronger Typical of many first rounds, the two fighters were looking for the right distance, throwing out test patterns and judging their opponent's responses. Powerhouse Kyshenko was more reserved than usual and missed more than a few of his strikes. It looked like he was having trouble finding his groove - apparently he has trouble with lefties. Hinata dodged a middle kick and came on with a back kick to the body - a solid hit that gave Hinata the confidence he needed to press the attack. Instead of his usual left middle kicks, Hinata threw a number of high and low kicks in addition to flying in with a right straight punch. In the past, Hinata used his consecutive middle kicks because he had trouble seeing his opponents' attacks. Since his loss in March, he has undergone extensive training to fix such problems. Apparently it worked since Hinata was able to deftly defend himself from each of Kyshenko's blows. In the second round, Kyshenko tried to come in close, firing rights as he did so, but Hinata deftly maintained his distance while shooting back with left lowkicks of his own. Kyshenko did get in a back blow, but apparently his frustration of not being able to keep up the pressure was beginning to show - as soon as he would clinch, he would throw Hinata. Later, Hinata said he had never been thrown around so much in a fight. But Hinata refused to be shaken and kept his cool throughout the round. A historic finish Hinata was given a yellow card for attacking in the clinch, but didn't let that shake him. It was the last round and he had to finish what he had started. With right hooks, left low kicks he slowly began to get back on track. Then, as Kyshenko came forward, he met with a series of Hinata's left middle kicks followed by the coup de grace - a damaging crescent kick to the body. With an expression of pain plastered on his face, Kyshenko went down! Apparently, Hinata had mastered the kick watching Katsunori Kikuno on DVD. The crowd were up on their feet, but Kyshenko was down for the count. He had done what so many other big names had yet to do - he beat Artur Kyshenko. There was some controversy about a kick to the head after Kyshenko went down and Kyshenko commented that maybe Hinata had "seen too many Badr Hari fights". Regardless, Hinata proved that he has what it takes to fight at the top. Will these two meet again in MAX? Time will tell, but the easy money says that they haven't seen the last of each other. http://www.k-1.co.jp/en/news/2010/0804_etc_01.html This content is protected This content is protected These guys were in attendance This content is protected thoughts?

Does no one care of yet another great upset in sports history? Some people proclaimed that Kyshenko was on his way to win the k1 max tourney this year. Many, myself included were envisioning a great showdown with Giorgio Petrosyan. Oh how the mighty have fallen! Well I'm not much into Max, but may people prefer that division because of the much higher workrate as is the case in boxing. Max is striking Mayhem. Anyway, Kyshenko is great, but nobody is unbeatable. It's not the first time that a Japanese fighter upsets a huge name. It happened to Le Banner too. The underdog trains like he never trained before, the big name fighter underrates his opponent, doesn't train that hard and their ability level comes very close then. Driven by adrenaline the underdog can score the upset in that scenario.
For anyone who wants to witness the upset for themselves. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4hrBT3TEVA[/ame]
