Thought he might have nicked the first myself - messy round, but could have gone either way. Don't think Paulie really got his jab going well until the second.

    Round 6

Malignaggi is just strolling around Bracero now, giving him very little respect, gloves down, chin thrust up defiantly, gait slowed to a swagger with his rear foot dragging along the canvas. Malignaggi is using shoulder-twitches and feinting the jab to make Bracero flinch and interrupt his rhythm whenever he shows any signs of generating his own attacking initiative. Bracero very tentative, eating the sudden abrupt jabs off the hip Malignaggi is showering him with and barely responding. Bracero is reaching in with a double jab, no snap on it, just pushing & waving the left out twice without bending his elbow, all wrist - missing, of course.

    10-9 Malignaggi

    60-54 Malignaggi

They said before the fight that he had to lose 31lbs in camp to make 147, would imagine 140 is probably just a bit out his reach unless he really rededicated himself.

That's how poor Bracero is; Malignaggi didn't leave first gear in the opener and looked pretty subpar himself (compared with the next five) but you still can't make a solid claim for Tito actually taking it.

I love that a few people were swayed by the freak O'Connor KO.

    Round 7

Malignaggi is boxing his man's head off, faking him out rolling in with the jab only to abort with a backward jerk. Pull-counter rights by Malignaggi. Bracero rushes in and tries a few straight punches and can't hit paydirt. Malignaggi pigeons his neck, pulling his chin away from or clear to either side of Bracero's fists. Bracero is only able to make contact by first ramming his right elbow into Malignaggi's face, setting up a left hook follow-up on the cheek.

    10-9 Malignaggi

    70-63 Malignaggi

This is as shutout-y as it gets. There hasn't been a close one since the first, which Malignaggi used to shake off rust and practically gave away but still won.

I listen to Paulie's podcast, I think he mentioned this being his swan song, one last fight in Brooklyn is what he wanted.
