Goddamn, epic stuff from Montes, underhanded shoeshine on the belly, driving Bruzón into a corner and pinning him there until the athletic Cuban southpaw can size him up for a big counter left uppercut or right hook. Bruzón picking his spots, landing the cleanest and hardest stuff but getting outworked by a lot and starting to exhale with difficulty, Montes' body work really paying off.

Bad cut on the brow ruled by the ref from a butt, and we're past the minimum threshold so if stopped this will go to a technical decision.

 

Physically he's everything you could ask for in a prospect, while bringing none of the requisite mental side of the game. (not just employing unwise tactics but gives some other red flag vibes: wary of getting hit in the face, overly hesitant and thoughtful, and dare I say lazy)

 

We're only halfway in and these guys look as if they've gone thrice as long as they have and completed a 15 rounder. (Montes' face is dogmeat and Bruzón is too winded to not flop in and hold every few seconds).

 

GGM ate way too many concatenate uppercuts in the sixth (Bruzón catching a second wind), imagine he'll need to show the ref (and his corner) something in the seventh to not take a mercy stoppage.

Yeah, got RSC1'ed by Erislandy Savón which is certainly no shame, but also lots of less heralded guys on the domestic amateur scene.

 

Stopped on the cut and the corner of La Bestia starts to celebrate prematurely misunderstanding and thinking he got a TKO.
