Partial eighth goes to Bruzón, 77-75 Bruzón is my final card.

Geovany will have a fun career, but not a long or great one.

Martínez, if the name sounds vaguely familiar, is the kid who audaciously made his pro debut versus Ricardo Mayorga in 2019, and mangled El Matador via TKO2.

At just 7-0 he's probably already Guatemala's second most accomplished pro boxer of all time (after early aughts NABF titlist and one time world title challenger David "El Tormentoso" Donis) - needless to say they aren't exactly steeped in pugilistic tradition like their neighbors due north in Mexico. :sisi1

Did...they edit that championship belt with red duct tape, like they were using white-out? :dunno

Is that a repurposed NABO belt?

This is for the vacant Latino title at 168lbs, which...just came into existence after the WBC arts & crafts department raided the supply closet. :risas3:

    Round 1

Martínez is jabbing López's gloves aside, then slashing at him with quick looping rights and left hooks. Martínez is walking the Mexican down, climbing up his body with doubled and tripled up hooks while grunting in succession with each. López is backing up and crossing his arms so that Martínez's punches splash off his outer wrists. Counter hooking combos by López but nothing dissuading Martínez or landing all that cleanly.

    10-9 Martínez

    Round 2

Martínez is knifing his jab between López's guard and then bopping him on the crown with a right. Martínez hooks a right into the body ducking low and then comes up with a strapping right across the cheekbone. Nice selection and placement by Martínez, as López defends and waits for opportunities to uppercut on the inside or slap at the back of the head when Martínez bends forward throwing high lacrosse stick punches. Wide punches from López, caught on the upheld backs of the arms, Martínez countering down the middle and bashing the forehead and now swollen/bloodied eyes of López until he can get his guard moved up to block.

    10-9 Martínez

    20-18 Martínez

Martinez is looking really solid so far showing a good arsenal of punches and bringing constant pressure
