He has already been slurring his speech for a long time now, and tonight he got an asskicking of epic dimensions. I really think he may already have some brain damage unfortunately.

I agree. JML couldn't pull the trigger all night long. He looked like he saw the openings, but just couldn't get his body to respond. That or he was just gun shy and weary about getting caught by Salido.

We have seen the end of Lopez being elite imo. He's only 28 too, but has received scary amounts of damage already.

Boxing is as brutal as it is beautiful.

Too right, the way he was wobbling around, dipping up and down on his toes when hurt is an indicator that his brain is taking serious damage, perhaps irreversible damage.

I think he should retire, he might get killed in the ring one day with his heart/chin.

That too, but the fact he's slurring his speech at 28 is a very bad sign. I mean, I know Puerto Ricans don't articulate words that much, but Juanma is well above the average in that respect.

Agreed. I hope he's saved his money and invested wisely, because continuing on with his boxing career is not a good idea. He's going to end up in very bad shape later in life if he keeps receiving punches like he does.

Even with the disgraceful judges on his side JML still couldn't do it.He should retire and not be heard of again after his stupid comments.I see a law suit coming his way-real soon,if he doesn't retract his statement about the ref.

he's going to wind up like Benitez. Being an action fighter comes with a price, that would be tragic to see him wind up wheelchair bound and completely unaware of what's going on around him.

I honestly think after the 9th round this fight should have been stopped by his corner.

It was a great round and I was being selfish hoping this would go 12 but in the inside I was hoping they would stop it for his safety.

Definitely the excuse he gave IMO was a byproduct and an early sign of brain damage.
