Not true. UFC recently did big numbers.. Fans will pay for the right fights.

Canelo v an unknown British boxer isn't interesting anyone.

Problem is HBO don't have the budget to pay the purses anymore.

    :clapclap:

:bandit: Cocaine O$car has become the laughing stock of Boxing. One dumb move after another... then another..,

    then another.

:risas3: O$car sez it... Isal repeats it.

Unlikely. May Pac scored 4 milion buys and the recent UFC fight McGregor Diaz 2 got 1.6. The British didn't used to have pay per view but Khan and Brook are clearning up in the UK lately. Pay per view isn't going away. The cancer is spreading.

No, you're delusional, you claimed this was a smart business move and will get huge exposure around Europe for Canelo.

Do I have to go and find the quotes? Yes you contradict yourself so inevitably cover a few bases so you can do exactly that and claim you were right :risas3:

Shall I go and find your quotes?

    Consumer Perspective:

I live near Vegas now, so I have the option of attending LA/Vegas fights or buying PPV.

I was considering going to see Ward-Kovalev just because I want to see two great fighters against each other in person. However, I might end up just saving the money and going to a UFC event. Why? Value for money.

I can go see a UFC card that's like 13 exciting, evenly-matched fights top-to-bottom, or I can pay roughly the same to hang out in a casino for hours while a s***** undercard of boxing mismatches goes on, then go take my seat for the main event, which may or may not be the most boring thing ever.

With PPV, you're out of your mind if you pay 50-75 bucks just to see a boxing PPV. Most of the fights are mismatches, and you get the occasional exciting main event. That's not worth the money. Boxing needs to start making real fight cards or stop pricing out the average consumer. I think the British PPV prices are just about perfect.

You are forgetting that the live gate was a couple of million, plus the pay per view was only for the UK. HBO had to pay a fee to air it in the US, plus replays, and whatever it made being broadcaston other channels around the world. Golovkin probably has a good deal with RT to air his stuff in Germany/Russia/Ukraine/Khazakstan. So there are a couple of different revenue streams to consider.

Yep and the same with Canelo in that TV Azteca pays good money to screen his fights in Mexico. His guarantee v cotto only £5 mil but he cleaned up way more with the ppv upside and Mexican TV money.

Dude, that's just the way it starts. That's how much it was in the US when pay per view began. Remember a few years ago when Hulu was free? Or when Youtube didn't have ads? When Netflix started it was like 7 bucks to get unlimited streaming and DVDs. Now it's like 9 dollars just to get streaming and no DVDs. Inflation. Greed. Whatever.

Canelo makes money off the merchandise, international tv rights, live gate, closed circuit, site fee etc.
If an enchilada gets sold outside the stadium Canelo gets a piece of that too.
