L.Fertitta confirms UFC no longer being shown on ESPN UK and IRE

That would be amazing!

 

Sky do it with WWE. They show their content with no changes. It's WWE production, WWE presenters etc and it works. They should do the same with the UFC.

Boxing and MMA are combat but Sky often counter program when they put on 2 big football matches. They've got 4 channels, not including numerous rivals. They are specialists so it depends what the consumer wants to watch. Plus it wouldn't happen all the time.

The UFC product is a much more reliable brand then anything else I think, for the reasons I stated earlier.

 

UFC on FX could make sense as well. FX has alot of good content like Walking Dead. FX is also HD. FX is aligned with FOX. It makes sense. As long as it is marketed and people know that the UFC is on it then it makes sense and all MMA fans can access it as they would Sky Sports. As long as the production etc remains UFC I'm good. Generally I would say the UFC is the best production in sport. Maybe only Sky football can top it.

 

WWE is far more established with Sky than UFC. Partly because Sky was one of the brands that helped launch the station back in the day and partly because it provides many more hours of content than the UFC could ever hope to provide. Also the issue with schedule clashes is not the same due to big WWE shows being on Sundays.

And the only football games Sky counterprograms is the Champions League. And again there's a world of difference between being willing to show four mainstream sports live during the day and showing multiple niche sports at night.

 

i for one will not shell out anything for PPV's, not a hope in hell!!!

i already pay €75 a month for my tv package, and im ****ed if im spending another €15-20 on a ppv just so i can watch a **** load of adds and listen to that eejit Joe Rogan

if they go PPV over here, they will fail miserably

 

As the UFC spreads, numerous shows are not at night. Coming up I think Sweden wouldn't be at night and I think Japan might be at an okay time.

The UFC is growing, Sky are specialists in sport so I'm sure they are on the look out. If they want to sign then this is a great opportunity. I'm sure they could afford it and I'm sure they'd get alot of fans.

Sky is definitely an option. It's not like we get late night big show boxing every week on Sky. UFC on the other hand put on about 3 cards a month.

 

Also WWE pulls in fantastic ratings for Sky. If Vince Mcmahon said UFC was a competitor and he didnt want sky to show it they wouldnt.
