I think people are going a little overboard here. I don't see Manny destroying Cotto, but I also don't see it happening the other way as well.

Cotto has better defense than Hatton, he is also more proven at the higher weights (not to mention a FAR superior all around fighter). The man who Hatton struggled with at his foray into the welterweight division (Collazo) gets his ass handed to him by Cotto.

Cotto has a solid resume at welterweight which people tend to overlook. Mosley, Quintana, Judah, Clottey, and he was competitive against Margarito where he may have been cheated. Cotto is an elite welterweight until proven otherwise.

Pac I don't think is proven at higher than 140. Sure he beat DLH and he seemed to retain his speed, but the thing is he hasn't been tested like Cotto. And I believe Mosley, Judah, and Margarito have more power than Pac so I don't see him bulldozing over Cotto.

I'm sure Pacman can outbox Cotto using footwork and his speed but we don't know if his chin is going to hold up against Cotto. And he will get nailed by Cotto, you can count on that. Unless Cotto is really damaged goods, this should be a 50/50 IMO.

hmm says... Steve Kim again?! man he's quickly losing it, but yeah I think Pac can outbox Cotto at 147... keyword "outbox"...doesn't mean "gobble" or walk in the park ko him.
