It's looking more and more like Saudi is trying to put a global boxing circuit on the go - new event in August announced for Los Angeles: https://x.com/MichaelBensonn/status/1783178002752303300 Terence Crawford vs Israil Madrimov Vergil Ortiz vs Tim Tszyu Andy Ruiz vs Jarrell Miller Isaac Cruz vs Jose Valenzuela David Morrell vs Radivoje Kalajdzic Andy Cruz vs Antonio Moran Also: wondering (since Hearn was in the middle of this announcement but no sign of Frank) if the grand bargain is... Queensberry can lead the Saudi shows but since Matchroom is present in the USA, they lead things over there?
That main event is serious business, might even be enough for me to book my arse on a flight to tinsel town
Probably more to do with Frank not having a horse in the race and Eddie being a good front man/salesman from a press conference point of view.
First time (to my memory at least) Frank hasn’t been at the top table for one of these Saudi events though.
Hearn is much more slick and has a bigger reach for those clicks and views than Frank. Dont really see what Frank brings to the table for the Saudis other than some interest in Fury.
My recent 12 month DAZN subscription turned out to be awful value for money so they won’t get any more loot from me. Months went past without a half decent UK show to watch.
The upcoming Canelo fight incredibly is on PPV as was the Garcia v Haney fight. Don't forget 'as part of your subscription' and 'much more' - you get this card on Saturday. https://www.matchroomboxing.com/events/oquinn-vs-mcgrail-2/
He obviously is finding out like FW did with Boxnation, it helps to be associated as he was with Sky, designated news channel hyping up fighters and fights. DAZN unless real hardcore many don't know fights are on. If you don't sell fighters to the casuals long term it's unsustainable, DAZN I have no interest in ever subscribing to.
48 quid minimum for a NXTGEN show? No wonder you can still buy a full row of 10 tickets this close to it.
