It says Canelo-Chavez did 1M buys. Didn't it do 1.2M?

It's amazing how these numbers vary so much from source to source.

Not bad for the hype and crowd after watching 2 of the biggest names in combat sports milk the cow so well that Floyd had a mural painted of McGregor in his California mansion (weirddd).
1.3 is solid due to pirating that also affected the May/Conor fight to the estimation of 130 million streams worldwide. So think about the people who "stole" this fight too it was great to do these numbers.
It's gonna be a tough battle fighting technology, these fights will eventually need big sponsors just to make real money on regular TV 5 years from now. PPV is dead.

Disappointed, but they made the 3rd best overall gate.

These are great numbers, especially when you consider that so many places lost power and this is right after a $100 PPV.

A lot of people on here were guessing 700-800k.

Solid numbers. Anyone currently active in boxing would give their left nut for that revenue.

Also, imagine all the Mexican households in Florida who did not buy because of power and cable outage.

How did Canelo bring 1 million when Cotto/Canelo sold 650k?

Terrible numbers considering that this fight could have done equal or greater pvp buys had Oscar chose not to let this fight marinate for an extra year. His promotional tactic backfired and he was eclipsed by the 2nd biggest fight in combat sports history.

    Canelo sold:
    900K with Cotto
    1.2M with Chavez Jr
    1.3M with Golovkin

Golovkin as the A side sold:
    150K with Lemieux
    170K with Jacobs

    and

    1.3M with Canelo

We can give Golovkin the benefit of the doubt and say he pulled in an extra 130K-150K against Canelo with a grand total of 300K viewers for Golovkin.

What other active boxer can sell over 1 million PPVs at 79.99?

I don't think you realize how much money that is.
    103million in just PPV sales.
