Then why didn't the judges hose B-Hop against Pavlik? He's an even bigger gravy train than JT is.

You have a good point. HBO is always known to hype up their fighters. You have to beat the champ (Hopkins). I did not see Taylor beating Hopkins. I am still going with Taylor though. Lacy looked like crap in his last two fights. If Manfredo trained just a little more harder, he could have gotton the nod. Lacy should retire before he gets seriously hurt with either Taylor or a future opponent.

if taylor lost all 3 fights against b-hop and winky, people would be saying "he was very competitive" and that means a lot.

The only flaw in your argument starts with your analysis of the Taylor-Hopkins fight.

His two questioniable decisions over Hopkins, at this point in their respective careers, do not represent a deficit in Taylor's resume, rather, they are bigger than any achievement on Lacy's resume.

    Why?

    Simple,

Hopkins just beat Winky Wright, had a very close fight with Calzaghe and shut out Kelly Pavlik his last fight.

The fact of the matter is, even a close fight with Hopkins is a bigger achievement than any achievement on Lacy's resume.

The only counter to this point is to say that perhaps Hopkins was getting too big for MW and the process of cutting weight was draining him too much.

However, before Hopkins decided to move up to LHW, he could have made MW for another several years had he chosen to do so.

Look at Hopkins in with Tarver. He is very clearly a middle-weight fighting a Light-Heavyweight, his frame is simply a middle-weight frame. He beat Tarver because of his p4p greatness, his skill, his mental fortitude and his tenacity.

That's what convinces me that Taylor takes this fight with ease.

This Lacy is not THAT Lacy that used to knock people's head off. Unfortunately I must say. The guy was written off so bad by his former bandwagon fans, that I wished he'd whoop some bigtime asses for the disgraceful former supporters to look foolish again. Jeff is a nice guy who deserves better.

But he has very little chance. One info to judge this fight: Jeff Lacy went 10 awful rounds with Manfredo and barely won. Sakio Bika has just beat the **** out of Manfredo in 3... not the best sign for Lacy...

I'm putting my money on Lacy. The odds are just too good. Plus he's the naturally bigger guy and does have power (it's the last thing to go). He's also familiar JT and if anything has shown that he has the heart of a lion. I'm guessing he will most likely be motivated by everyone counting him out. JT is talented, but its not like he's a master class boxer like JC. He will give left hook his opportunities.

Yeah, right, he's going to win...I mean, why wouldn't he? He goes life and death with Manfredo with a fully fit shoulder no less, and by most accounts doesn't even beat Manfredo, Taylor just comes from a very good performance against Pavlik and Lacy beats Taylor? Ain't happening. Lacy has a small puncher's chance, that's all; Taylor's style is all wrong for him. This is very much Taylor's fight to lose, imo.:good

When it came down to it, I thought that there was a good possibility that those saying Lacy was totally shot was right. I thought he had a little more left that he apparently does.
