I'm pretty sure Lacy is targeting the IBF title.

even so it looks silly when you have calzaghe or more likely kessler holding the WBA/WBC/WBO and Ring belts. and lacy is potentially holding the IBF?

it's one thing when there are four champs. all belt holders can holler as much as they wish, but it will look kinda lame if lacy wins the IBF and he or his team shout they are back, baby! just will look silly.

the ONLY way it can look okay getting a belt and claiming he is geniunely better than before is if kessler gets outclassed like lacy and then ko'ed on top of it...... a scenario which seems EXTREMELY unlikely. even if kessler loses it will be a very close loss for kessler and probably a SD or something. but i think kessler will win convincingly enough, and lacy will have no stool to stand on.

In all seriousness Lacy (if fit) will destroy Manfredo.

Then Manfredo can stop complaining about the early Calzaghe stoppage.

Apart from that both fighters are 3 lvls below Calzaghe and Kessler....2 lvls below Mundine and same lvl as tv pretenders like Bika and Soliman.

Bika and Soliman are on a higher level than Manfredo.

If this actually happens, it's a great move in every respect. Great opportunity for both fighters, and it adds a punching contest to a card where the main event may not have a lot of real contact.

That was my beef with having Paulie vs. Lovemore. It was far too similar a fight to Hatton vs. Mayweather.

Yeah my mistake  Manfredo is well below Bika and Soliman and Lacy is probably a fraction better than Soliman and Bika

lacy to look poor early on, only to shake off the ring rust and take manfredo out by TKO in the middle rounds.

Interesting fight. Neither could lay a glove on Calzaghe but Lacy seems to have more about him. Jeff Lacy, the guy, really impressed me after he fought Joe - very likeable and down to earth. I hope his injury has completely cleared up. He'll still have those massive bombs in his fists and a very good chin - not many would have lasted the full 12 against Joe, he's not as light a puncher as many assume. Manfredo on the other hand is very limited. Lacy stops him by the mid rounds.
