Just from looking at their careers and stats, id give Mendoza a very good chance. what do you all think?
Mendoza is a scrub, but Lacy looks pretty DOA to me. He almost got beat by Peter friggin Manfredo. If I thought Mendoza was a game fighter, he might be a good upset pick, but Mendoza has always been the type to just show up for a paycheck unless he happens to knock his opponent out with a huge punch.
Very well put. And I can't see him knocking Lacy out - even as bad as he is atm - as he's show a good chin.
Mendoza has always been inconsistent. His greatest chance at an upset is an early KO, but I don't see it happening. If Lacy has improved from the Manfredo fight and his shoulder is close to pre-surgery levels, I think he might stop Mendoza.
Mendoza was very carefully picked. Even Man-afraid-o almost proved to be too much. Lacy's confidence needs to be recharged, and Mendoza, Lacys handlers hope, will fit the bill as a confidence booster.
I don't think it's too likely- Lacy's still got a solid chin and still has more boxing ability. Even Manfredo was a cut above Mendoza.
Lacy will beat Mendoza. Lacy isnt gonna be in with anyone that can beat him for this fight. Too much money in a Taylor showdown.
Going with Mendoza,he has KO power but most importantly in this fight Lacy is done,shot,stick a fork in him.
An upset is not out of the picture here. . . but it's unlikely. Team Lacy is trying to buid back Lacy's confidence . . . so Mendoza was picked. Lacy has 68 % KO% . . . Mendoza has 70% . . . but check the quality of opponents. Mendoza was TKOed by Dawson in round four in his last fight.
Mendoza can really crack, but lacy has shown the ability to take a good shot in the past. I'm picking Lacy by KO but it should be a prety fun fight while it lasts. Only way there's an upset here is if Jeff is completely shot.
