Perhaps. But the reality of the matter is Lacy was always a one dimensional slugger. One dimensional fighters can only go so far.

    Is that you, Jeff?

yeah, but a rotator cuff injury is one of the worst non leg related injuries in all of sports aside from head/brain trauma. We can only speculate but he most likely would have had a more fruitful career had he not been so severely injured

His one dimension was his big left hook. After he ****ed up his shoulder, he didn't even have that anymore.

Lacy was never a monster, but he used to be much better than this guy we've seen over the past 2 years. The fact of the matter is that the rotator cuff injury ****ed up his snap and speed. He doesn't even have a left hook anymore.

The Calzaghe beating finished him mentally...the rotator cuff one finished him physically. So basically he's completely done and reduced to journeyman status.

It's amazing how many gurus we have here who all knew he was overrated before the Calzaghe fight. A true sight of the internet's first class elite sharing confidential knowledge of intellectual superiority for free. I am in tears.

Rehab for a rotator cuff injury can be troublesome. I myself experienced a rotator cuff injury playing college ball.

Truth of the matter is I had doubts about Lacy's ability after he fought Sheika - and yes I predicted Lacy to beat slappy Joe even after the Sheika fight. I noticed Lacy had little answer for Sheika's mobility and counter punching except brute force. When Lacy did get to Sheika, rarely did he counter punch the body. A short boxer like Lacy should have worked Sheika's inside, but rather Lacy focused on being a steam rolling head hunter. You have to have more weapons in your arsenal than just raw power. That was the day I said Lacy was one dimensional.

I think had he lost to Syd Vanderpool that night, his career would have been a bit better...

With that said, it is hard to come back from this injury... Vitali Klitschko won a world title after losing in a fight where he torn his rotator cuff.... I think its more of a mental thing than a physical thing... Jeff is going to have to fight more low level guys until he feels confident with throwing punches with that injured arm... It took Vernon Forrest a while to rebound from his injury... It's possible, but Lacy will need to build his confidence back up...
