I have been doing a program that is said to be used by Russian Special Forces soldiers. You start with 1 pullup and then 2,3,4 until you reach 2 reps before your max and start all over. You do take moderate rest periods in between sets as you are "greasing the groove" by training your muscles and nervous system to adapt to the stress without burning out.

I modify this by tying a 35lb kettlebell around my waist for chins/pulls, one armed pushups with the perfect pushup training device and one legged squats with 45 lbs for sets of 1-3 repeat.

This program has worked great in increasing my absolute strength and making me feel like a beast at 154lbs.:good
