He has never said he is "great", he only says that he is in better shape than the rest (true), has more power/KO % than most (true) and he once said he'd be the saviour of the HW division (all to get a Klit fight. If you talk about the UK he has saved the division from the mediocrity of Williams/Skelton).

Agree with your second point 100%. :good

NOONE on this forum or in the media or even from his team as said he is GOAT. I don't remember anyone calling him 'great'. His record is far from "shite". In his 6 HW fights he is 5(4)-1. He has wins over a reigning champion, a former multiple champion, an Olympic Gold/reigning Euro champ, a solid gatekeeper and Bonin (test at the weight dispatched in 1 round). He also has a performance on par with Chisora's "brilliant" effort against a Klitschko. This is far from shite; not what he predicted - absolutely, but still far from shite.

I would like to of seen or like to see Haye fight a legitimate top 10 fighter other than an ancient Ruiz. The Valuev fight was a very good win for Haye, he stuck to a game plan and nearly got a knockdown.

Why haven't we seen Haye in with Chagaev, Povetkin, Adamek? Hell even some of the yanks like Arreola, Chambers or even Thompson?

I'm not saying he can't fight, I'm in no way a fan of Hayes because IMO all he wants to do is pick his fights for the most money i.e Harrison. I just think he is an overhyped fighter who is good but will never be great.

He hasn't won a fight since November 2010 ! And that was against Audley Harrison, who just about everyone agreed was a disgraceful choice of opponent.
He looked pathetic against Wladimir Klitschko, and that was 12 montha ago.

How the **** is he even in the conversation ?

Haye is a hype job. I've noticed the less he does, the more his reputation seems to grow around here.

The over-rating of Haye around here was embarrasing enough last year. Now it's just ridiculous.

    Number 2..............he's closer to 12 than 2.

If he wasn't British people here would have thrown him on the scrap heap a long time ago.

    It's all true.

    1. Harrison was a disgraceful choice of opponent. Who would disagree with that ? Even David Haye promoted the fight as a pointless mismatch. The only "justification" put forward for that fight was that it would generate money because the man in the street knew who Harrison was. Haye could fight an 80 year old Clint Eastwood under the same reasoning.

    2. Haye was pathetic against Klitschko. No explanation necessary. It was a pitiful performance, and a pitiful post-fight excuse.

    3. Of course Haye is a hype job. Just about his whole reputation and appeal in the last 4 years has been based on his self-publicity. If Haye was some guy who didn't talk or hype himself up. he'd be nowhere and forgotten.
I say good on him. :good

I'm not sure why you have a problem with hearing the truth. I'm sure Haye himself has explained most of this already in one way or another.
