My only issue with her is that she should be assigned to lower weight fights. She seems a little small to be reffing fights with guys this big.

An older Mills Lane used to ref big guys all the time. See no problem with it.

I don't know, I kind of feel the same about this as I do about woman announcing football games. Doesn't sound right, doesn't look right, I don't like it. That said, there was nothing wrong with the job she did, it just seems too try-hard to me. She did better than than the other guy did though

    1) Any red-blooded boxing fan should appreciate that this woman's actual name is like an 80's porn star's. The whole thing sounded out is "Sparkly". That's got to count for something. Just ask her sister Ora.

    2) She did a good job. Maybe Vic Drakulich should be ashamed that he, with the name that sounds like a comic-book style thinly veiled alias for a vampire, was out-reffed by a woman named "Sparkly"

nobody is going to bully mills lane, guy was a soldier had a booming voice and was quick as hell to say something. similar with smoger and cappuccino.

but i do think it's pretty important to have some size and presence. she didn't seem to have much.

BUT that doesn't mean that she shouldn't get the fights. i see no problem with female referees, like literally. it is pretty strange how it hasn't happened and more common place recently.

vica versa terry o'connor is pretty awful and he has experience and size.

I agree with this. I strongly support women referees, but I think that having them referee fighters way above their size is not wise. Perhaps they can do the job in an ordinary fight, but what about one that gets out of control?

Well aside from Kovalev getting blatantly punched in the balls right before the knockdown.

I do think a tiny female like her shouldn't be reffing LHW's though you need someone who isn't dwarfed by the boxers. Imagine if Kovalev/Caparello was as rough and dirty as Rios/Chaves how the hell would she deal with that when she physically has to get involved to separate fighters who don't want to.

Ain't got any problem with lady refs, no reason they can't do the job as well as the guys. Only issue is the possibility that their lack of physical presence might make it more difficult to take control if the guys get out of hand.

OTOH - s#it, none of you guys ever been pulled outta red-rage by an angry woman shouting at you?

Also studies of women on the battlefield suggest than men respond better to women trying avert excessive violence than male superiors... maybe there's something in it.
