I think it was Vinny Paz who claimed to have lost to RJJ because he was coming down from a caffeine high.

boxing is like politics. in a loss- somebody needs to be accountable. fighters, being superstitious- and needing their egos intact for what they do - always need something to blame, somebody to blame- for things going wrong, someone needs sacking, normally the trainer- or something- i think fighters need to do this- so they can rationalise why they lost- other than not being as good- becasue their confidence needs to remain so high to do what they do.

i mean look at hattons excuse after pac- where he thought he was winning til he got clipped - !!?!! i mean its the delusion that they need.

Pac's "bad sox" excuse was the first thing I thought of when I read the thread title!

I just lost my first amateur fight in 10 years a week ago...my excuse(s)?

    "****, I'm 30...that guy was 19."
    "Man, I still smoke Newports."
"I just started training again 4 months ago after not doing it for 10 years."
"They gave it to him because I'm just doing this for fun...he's trying to make a career."

In a way, all 4 of those were credible excuses.

My favorite is probably Darchinyan trying to convionce the world he wasn't knocked out at all, about five minutes after he was laid out by Donaire.

Tarver claiming Hopkins drugged him was silly.

Sakio Bika after Bute was really bad. He claimed that the day before he went in a pool to cool off after working out, but he doesn't know how to swim and almost drowned. I mean, even if that's true, it's just plain stupid.

Floyd ~30million loss ... im scared of Pacquiao. My daddy thinks I will be killed. Pacquaio takes A-Side meth; Uncle Roger said it's not as good as crack, but it can stop bullets.
