I agree with almost everything he said, except the part about the size of the top guys in history... People (and thus boxers) were just smaller back then, he called Ali small while he was big for his time, so the proportion differences were about the same.

People weren't bigger or smaller they were the same.
Its just we have 7 Billion of us now so there's just more.

    Frasier was 203.
    Ali 218-225.
    Foreman was what 230-240
    Tyson was 225

Its called evolution, people today are taller and bigger than they were 30 years ago. Its a natural thing, nothing to do with the size of the population worldwide.....

Evolution works over much longer spans of time. 30 years is less than a nanosecond in evolutionary terms. I bet you any money the average size (that is height, not girth which of course has changed) of a person 30 years ago in inudstrial countries was exactly thesame as it is today. Other factors like nutrition changes can account for size differentials in developing countries, which has raised the overall/global height average.

That was a fascinating monologue. Brewster basically talked for 5 mins straight without having been asked a question. I don't agree with everything he said but I could see where he was coming from.

The averages for weight and height have increased significantly over the last 30years. Since this is too short a time for evolution to come into play it must be down to changes in lifestyle. People [on average] burn less calories, due to a greater proportion of the population using cars rather than walking. Children in the UK also have an higher calorie intake due to school meals being much higher in calories than when I was a pupil. These extra surplus calories will result in children growing bigger [on average].

A massive proportion of school kids are obese in my area now. When I went to school fat kids were really rare!
