Brewster was a decent heavyweight. He upset Wladimir, and beat Golata; which means you can't really say he sucks. He was too inconsistent, and often seemed unmotivated. Quarry is much better than Kali Meehan(sp?) Quarry by wide, unanimous, decision.
Depends a lot on how Quarry fights. If he boxes, he could win a rather wide decision. Brewster will try to make a fight of it and if he succeeds, it's anyone's game. His chin, power and heart are way up there.
Jerry shows how its a skill sport and proceeds to make this giant Behemoth look like a turkey in 2 rounds.. Jerry was the complete leveller when it came to bringing men down to size........
Brewster is my pick. Sorry, I just don't think Quarry would fight smart enough. Brewster hit harder and IMO took a better punch.
Quarry was at his best against big, slow punchers like Shavers, Spencer and Foster. Brewster was a little better than them though, it would be an interesting fight.
A peak Quarry (1969 to 1973) by KO. Similar to the Mac Foster match. Brewster not in Quarry's league.
I suppose the analogy here would be that Quarry is like a swarm of ants, and Brewster is like a very big beetle. Brewster can devastate Quarry with his mandibles, but Quarry has the edge in stamina, skill (especially in close) and speed. Quarry could be very beatable... Against boxers who could get him to follow them around. He was at his best against big targets who came at him, since he didn't have to look for them and he could land his counter shots with ease. Brewster is tough as nails and is very strong, which I think would take some of the snap out of Quarry's work in the later rounds, but Brewster lacks the skill and tactical intelligence to pull off a late victory. Brewster's key attributes were toughness and aggression, neither of which are going to serve him well against Quarry. Quarry would always stay either out too far or in too close for Brewster to find his power range. He'd land counters as Brewster came in, then nullify the distance and get to work with those freakishly small arms that were perfect for infighting. I'd expect Quarry to win a fairly wide decision over 12 rounds: something like 8-4, 9-3, or (at a push) 9-2-1.
