It was only foreign to everyone else, i'm sure Margarito and his camp were well aquainted with it.

Margarito has always had sub-par boxing skills and athleticism. I've always seen him as the Librado Andrade of welterweights. Unrelentless and a high workrate with a granite chin.

Do I think Margarito always used plaster before Mosley ? Who knows... but it's not something anyone can be sure of.

I believe they stupidly decided to try and give Margarito an edge in the Mosley fight because Margo was so outta shape.

I don't think that Margarito ever showed much power in his hands anyways. He just always had a high workrate and the moment he faced stationary targets, sooner or later the uppercuts would land to the body or face. Accumulated punches will mark and make most fade.

In the 1st Cotto fight, Miguel got tagged repeatedly by refusing to hold and not having the energy to properly move around after the first 7-8 rounds.

Look at Cotto's face towards the end of that 2nd fight. For a guy that wasn't supposedly tagged too much, he still showed signs of a battle, even knowing he was easily outboxing Margarito.

I think that if Cotto wouldn't have shown as much stamina this time around, the end result may very well have been the same as the 1st fight, and clearly with no loaded gloves this time around...

Many are so quick to jump to conclusions...

Alot of people are making it out like Marg wasnt dropping bombs all night on Cotto the first fight. Even though Cotto was ahead heading down the stretch. Marg was just a much sharper fighter in that first fight. I mean ****, Margs eye was closed, he's right handed, of course a one eyed man isnt gonna fight the same..

The best version of Marg we ever saw or ever will see was that first night in MSG... He beat the **** outta Cotto that night and put on a GREAT performance... These ladies spreading gossip cant take away what Marg did that night..

What's always been the problem on ESB is the total ignoring of what is happening below the neck, body work. It would seem like Margarito just came out of nowhere in all his late rounds with supernatural power as it looks like he's doing nothing before those late rounds. But check out his body attack, one of those most viscious in the sport. And he was demonstrating it in second Cotto fight too. That kills his opponent down the stretch. It is this body attack combined with Cotto's high energy movement which takes it out of Cotto in the late rounds.

When did the damage start showing on Cotto's face in the first fight? What round was it when his nose and face started looking like ****?
