Don't remember the round but Cotto used to have a bad habit of lowering his head behind a high guard. Going into the first fight everyone said because of this Margarito's uppercuts, one of the best uppercuts in the sport, would be a huge factor and they were. Margo laid three perfect uppercuts into a downward looking Cotto and ****ed him up.

He does have a great body attack.. And yae he was still landing on Cotto last weekend, but nothing like the first fight..

 

Yes, Margo was catching Cotto from time to time in the second fight, and in terms of total power connects, landed only twelve punches less in the first six rounds of the rematch than he did in the first fight. The difference is, Cotto was only beginning to get marked up in the rematch, whereas in the first fight his face resembled an abstract portrait.

Margo inflicted damage in the early rounds that seemed disproportionately severe with the number and quality of shots that he was landing, and that's one of the reasons why a lot of people think the gloves were loaded the first time around.

 

I'm pretty sure Lujan has cauliflower ear, and it got busted with repeated shots.. you see that kinda **** alot more in wrestling and mma from grappling.. But yea busted cauliflower ear, it happens sometimes..

Cotto's nose was already damaged in the second round, and Margo hadn't really caught him clean with anything at that point.

 

nothing makes me laugh harder or makes my **** stiffer then hearing the cries of cry baby mexican fans when their hero margarito gets beat

 

To be fair Margo was tagging Cotto at will from the 7th round on. Cotto just couldnt get away and was having problems with Margos output.

Now would Miguel have lasted w/o the plaster is another story.

 

I tend to agree with that statement, Not hatin on Cotto cause he did a fantastic job, Its just that he cant seem to condition himself to go twelve hard rounds. If Margo had of touched him more up to that point I think he would have been a position to stop him.( plaster or not ) Cotto gased on Mosley but Mosley didnt have the stamina like Margo to finish him. Its just one of those things about Cotto.

of course margarito was tagging him cotto had gone 7 straight rounds getting hit flush with loaded gloves

smh cotto a god damn G! he didn't duck and get his head beat in like collins did he went toe to toe with a guy who had loaded gloves that was trying to kill him in the ring !

if that's not a mother ****ing G i don't know what is ..

btw collins a G too for finishing the fight on his feet

Good point but Margo for all the flaws had a granite chin and is determined. They may have stopped it though because Cotto looked as good as ever in the first half of that fight.

 

Cool story cheato lovers, very entertaining, one might say it's riveting. I can't wait until you get to the part where you shut the **** up.

 

can someone explain to me how those use pads can cause that much damage if they're in the wrap, and protected by a glove.......anyone, please.....how can cotto directly feel this cement pad, but not margos knuckles.....GO AHEAD TEAM C.S.I.....i'll wait
