Lamont Peterson will not be facing Amir Khan on April 16th. Richard Schaefer said they balked at a 200-grand offer

    Who's it going to be?

Sounds like it could be Paul McCloskey or Victor Ortiz.

Good. I would much rather he fight Ortiz. Ortiz used to be goldenboys goldenboy untill he lost to Maidana and Khan became the new goldenboy of goldenboy. Now we can see who the real goldenboy is. If it happens. Which it probably wont. 2011 and I'm still as pessimistic as ever:lol:

Seriously though, Ortiz is a good fighter and it makes sense.

It can sell man. Ortiz has the star quality. The ABC arguement doesn't mean much in boxing, plus I think Ortiz would probably win a rematch against Maidana.

They can use the angle that they're both young superstars in the making. Both have suffered a loss and have come back and now cross paths.

Judah has signed to fight Mabuza.

I really hope it's not McCloskey.

Ortiz would be great but I don't think GBP want to eliminate one of their prize assets just yet.

    Joan Guzman?

I'm not sure he would, he just doesn't seem up to it mentally and it showed again when he fought Peterson.

Maidana would beat him even worse in a rematch.

I don't think it's going to be McCloskey. HBO won't buy it at all.

Victor has al the tools and non of the heart imo just loking at him he doesnt seem fully there since Maidana. That shrug he did after the Peterson fight was announced a draw says it all really, he just isnt really THAT arsed.

It'll be on either a Saturday afternoon or on delay in America. HBO won't be forking out much for this fight and probably won't be as influential in the picking of the opponent as they would usually be. The live gate and UK PPV will be providing most of the money.
