he has the skills, footwork, to give floyd a competitive fight . he already beat him up in sparring that is well documented.
Sparring is meaningless (or do we think Spadafora would actually trouble Mayweather) but stylistically you are not wrong. Peterson is versatile enough to really test Mayweather's adaptive capabilities.
I talked to him in the elevator after his fight aginst bradley at the aquas caliente casino and brought that up, and he didnt acknowledge that... all he said was floyd is the best fighter for a reason, and that it was great sparring.. and anthony said the same thing...:deal
Maybe but I doubt it, Lamont not smart enough for Floyd ! This is the same guy that played right into Mathysse's strengths by fighting toe to toe, when he should have been boxing from the outside.
Idiocy at its finest. He couldn't outbox glass jaw Khan, couldn't outbox Bradley but would give May hell? May knocks him out in possibly 4 rounds.
I would have laughed at this before tonight but the Peterson from the last 4 rounds would give Floyd a horrible night.
Lol. This is what I think is so funny about this forum. Some guy whose performances are well documented, you've all seen him before, fights a guy whose style was a rock to his paper, and yall think he can beat anyone. No, danny struggles a ton with guys like peterson. Danny isn't long to begin with and he isn't very quick either so those types of fighters will always give him trouble. Lamont won't be able to outjab Floyd so easily. And before you say "BUTT BUT BUT, PETERSON WAS BEATING DANNY UP CLOSE TOO." this is because he forced Danny to expend energy and frustrated him throughout the fight. I thought that Lamont would give Danny more trouble than all of you thought. Now you guy see and think he is #1 P4P. I guess Herrera should fight Floyd too LOL.
Floyd will duck him? first of all peterson is a 140 champ, second of all there are plenty of other WWs who would be in line before lamont...:deal floyd has 1 more fight left on his contract after pac, then its Bye Bye to the world of boxing... you got alot to learn buddy:thumbsup
Peterson's boxing ability is so overrated. Peterson is best when he's coming forward using his strength. Even his own trainers don't understand that
It's the size he managed to get to, he went into the ring at 165lbs, probably be even bigger at 147 than 143. He didn't accept clinches and walked through Garcia bombs. All that puts him in a good place stylistically for Mayweather as a pressure fighter. Herrera smaller, would struggle against Floyd.
