Neither one of them were truly effective early. Danny was a bit more effective with his body shots. LP landed a few jabs but ran too much, and Danny landed body shots and a few counter jabs and then he started missing. LP started to get closer and started connecting, and then Danny had a good round, and then one round Peterson took Danny's wind away and his power was lacking and in the end rounds Peterson was doing major damage. LP won the fight in my eyes.

    In a nutshell.

What Lamont showed is that he could outbox Danny and he could out fight Danny. When he was moving in the early rounds, it was Danny's job to cut off the ring and trap him on the ropes. He couldn't do that and that's on him. He stood in the middle of the ring and asked Lamont to engage him.(Be careful what you ask for )When Lamont decided to engage him, it was a total beatdown. It was the game plan that cost Lamont the fight, not the lack of skills because he is the better fighter and he proved that.
