I don't know if there is existing film of the Jake LaMotta/ Billy Fox fight in 1947, but I and dozens of others saw the fight in a local bar on a small 12" screen.I recall a day or so before the bout there were rumours abounding that there was something fishy going on. Watching the fight on tv, I thought that Billy Fox a bigger man than LaMotta, with a reputation of a devastating young ko artist,hit Jake with powerful blows but little did we know the truth of the reasons behind the tko LaMotta suffered. Amazing that LaMotta today is still around and kicking...
That's interesting, Burt... I've been looking to watch the fight for a long time. WHATAROCK -- that's Robert DeNiro, man -- and Pesci -- in the locker room. I thought you were joking... but seriously, that's the movie --- not the real LaMotta.
