Joe Gans has a -1% chance of beating Lamotta, the odds are just too wide and the skill margin is not wide enough (is it even that wide at all?), he's not avoiding Lamotta completely for 15 rounds.
I’d say the skill gap is pretty wide, Gans was much more well rounded and seemed to have a stylistic advantage as well. Is it enough for him to overcome the size disadvantage though? I doubt it.

The Nelson film, yes. More defensively responsible, more accurate, better timing, anticipated punches and manages distance better, much better movement, just sharper overall. Not acting like Jake’s a scrub of course, I just think Gans is on another level.
