Who are the best commentators. Im british but iv got loads of fight Dvds with american HBO commentating on them. And to me it just doesnt compare to British Sky Sports commentry...HBO sometimes is like somebody died.

Ian Darke is the best boxing commentator in the world:goodalong with jim watt. And note to sky sports why the **** do you keep replacing Darke with Adam Smith? Bring Darke back full time now!

HBO hype up a fight better than Sky. You get that big fight 'feel' with HBO.

Darke, unfortunately, is leaving Sky soon to work for ESPN as a "soccer" commentator. The best boxing commentary team in the UK would be Darke and Woodhall :yep

No way!:patsch. Boxing on sky will be worse off then. Ian Darke is the original don! Its not the same with that adam smith clown

Can't stand Jim Watt, he makes some ridiculous comments during fights. I agree though Darke is a very good commentator.

I'm with ya on Watt, can be very annoying sometimes. George Foreman, Lennox Lewis and B-Hop would be the best commentary team you could get! You could imagine the arguments!

Eveyone on HBO is garbage except for Jim Lampley. Steward knows the game but sounds like a half a ****** on TV. Lennox Lewis has the intelligence of a third grader, and Larry Merchant is a useless pseudo-philosopher whose attempt at cleverness is sickening. Max Kellerman is a smart dude but he sounds like Kermit the Frog and is a bit of a *****.

I enjoy them both thoroughly. I usually download both the HBO and Sky broadcasts of big fights for the additional commentary.

I ****ing hate watching fights over here because they dub it over and there is no atmosphere. Darke is good though, I like him, but Jim Watt is just a more annoying version of Merchant.

Darke is better than Lampley, easily.

Ian Darke is pretty good - Jim Watt can be very annoying at times. I like both Sky & HBO coverage. Not a massive fan of Merchant and Kellerman though - Merchant just seems to drone on and on and takes forever to make a point! (Sorry I dont want to offend any of his fans)

    Lampley is good though.

What do the Americans think of Merchant/Kellerman?

Ian Darke is the best by far,HBO commentary is really overrated, always has been, even going back to Tyson being knocked out by Buster Douglas, when Douglas floors Tyson you would think its just an undercard fight between two unkowns ,not the baddest man on the planet being dropped by a man that everybody gave no chance to,Merchant sounds like a drunk they pulled in off the street,Kellerman sounds like he's reading a script,Lampley is the best of the American bunch, but Ian Darke is the man..

i think sky sports is good for domestic level fights but for the really big fights you have to go with the american professionals

I prefer HBO, Showtime and ESPN to Sky. But Sky can be OK sometimes.
