    Jim Lampley shows his ignorance of anything boxing related outside of HBO Championship Boxing with this statement about former Undisputed 140 pound king Kostya Tszyu. He says he doesn't know if Kostya ever had any significant fights in the US after the upset by Phillips. I liked him as a caller but I always knew he wasn't very knowledgeable.

    Also from memory didn't Lampley call Tszyu v Hurtado, pretty sure from memory that was post Phillips? Thanks to @CST80 for moving this thread to the general forum also.

    He's 74 years old and he's been out of the announcing game for 6 years. Give him a break. The guy gave us three decades of quality announcing. He's paid his dues. Leave him alone.

    He never knew much outside of his HBO cocoon. He was a great caller though.

    Being a 'so called' boxing expert and not knowing the accomplishments of one of the greats is far from "not knowing everything".

    I'm just highlighting the interview is all. I enjoyed his fight calls as much as anyone. He brought excitement and knew how to call a sporting event.
