Langford fought more great fighters, I think. And probably beat more. But he lost to more ordinary ones too.
Lol, you're a pathetic liar who has been taken to school in this debate (and all others we've had) yet refuse to accept it. You can't show a single instance of me "trashing" any of the fighters you've named. I of course just have to look at your recent posts to see you trashing Langfords comp. Check out the poll. Check out the links I provided. Check out the vast majority of responses from educated boxing fans on this forum. You lose again. Live with it!
I honestly don't know a lot about Holly besides his record on boxrec and what little I've read about him, but he was obviously a capable fighter to be able to hang with some of the names on his resume. I'd be happy for any education anyone could give me on him.
The only thing i live with is a huge smile on my face knowing i educated you again. the pole on this topic has not had a single vote for Langford since i made my case on the subject and Pep's vote has more than trebled..are you now claiming that Marciano, Dempsey, Tunney & Frazier are all Top 10 fighters when only last week you started a topic on the other forum trashing them and claiming they was unworthy of being in the Top 10
Your "case" has been laughed at by the masses and the poll has remained the same percentage wise the entire time, give or take a few points, so don't kid yourself. As far as your other lies about me "trashing" these certain fighters.....provide a link. Hell, give everyone directions to the thread, I don't care. I've never put down any of these fighters, and just because I have Marciano 10, Dempsey 11 and Frazier 12 with Tunney unranked in the top 15 doesn't mean that. I gave my reasons and I stand by that, but thats for another thread. You unfortunatly can't handle facts or a difference of opinion and this is exactly why you're bannd from the other history forum. I have no doubt the posters here will soon figure you out if they already haven't. You're a troll who can't stand to be told he wrong and become combative when its proven. You're a joke!
i don't need to provide the link because you have just stated exactly what i stated you claimed in that Marciano,Tunney, Dempsey & Frazier are not Top 10 fighters. http://cyberboxingzone.com/boxing/casey/MC_index.htm The link above does not agree with you and it is the same website you used to state your case for Langford.. i have told you that i aint banned from the other forum unless you just recently had me guillotined yet i would lose no sleep over that as the traffic is around 3 posts per day since they made you the moderator as you have systematically destroyed it with your childish antics and if the forum was so good then you would not be on here 99% of your time you would be on the other forum discussing boxing. but like i said, with only around 3 posts per day being made it's obvious your looking for another place to do your lying & trolling.:crybaby
Actually you claimed I "trashed" these fighters. Is that another lie, or just an oversight? And unlike you I don't get myself in a twist every time someone disagrees with me or doesn't like my opinion. :good
"no need to read the biased book which was written by Langfords reletive. i prefer to go by the newspapers of the day and many reporters at ringside thought different to the book and had Ketchel the winner with the bout being halted just in time to save Langford from almost certain defeat as Ketchel was coming on really strong.. so there is two sides to that story which boil down to which one do you believe. a reletive of Langfords who was born some 40yrs after the event or a ringside reporter. " Related to Langford, hah, not that I know, in fact there's very little resemblance between us And if you read the book about Langford you'd find that both sides of the story and the differing newspaper reports concerning the Langford-Ketchel fight results are presented.
There is no-one left to disagree with your "trashing of former great fighters" on the other forum as they have all deserted or been banished since you arrived on the scene.. i will bow out of this slagging match with you now as the victor and only respond to your posts to correct you with the lies and mistakes you make when talking about great boxers from the past... whenever i see a post by you i laugh thinking about your comment "Tommy Morrison is up there with the all time greats"
I referred to all of the following: Philadelphia Public Ledger, Philadelphia Record, Philadelphia Evening Bulletin, New York Evening World, New York Evening Telegram, New York World, New York Times, New York Telegram, Los Angeles Times, Milwaukee Free Press, Washington Post, England’s ‘Boxing Magazine’, The Veteran Boxer magazine, Ring Magazine, a story in Nat Fleischer’s ‘Black Dynamite’ book about the fight, and Langford’s own account of the fight published in a series of newspaper articles that ran in 1924.
I don't know as much about him as I'd like to either, just enough to know that he was certainly a quality fighter at his best and fighting him and Langford (even a green one) in a 24 hour stretch even without the long train ride in between is a tall, tall order for Gans. Holly was certainly no local Joe Blow type that'd provide just an easy 6 round sparring session. He seems to have been incredibly tough up to the end of his career, having fought Gans, Langford, Walcott, and Blackburn multiple times and never being stopped by any of them - even when Sam outweighed him by nearly 15 pounds.
