What if Langford and Johnson had a rematch during Jack Johnson's title reign? Can you see Langford taking the title?

Johnson would be the favourite on the first day of his reign, Langford the last. The only question is, at what point inbetween Langford would become favoured to win.

Good question, I didn’t really know when to put it, maybe like 1910

I'd guess Johnson in 1910 and Sam by 1912

All wrong because he would have outweighed Langford by 30lbs or so , as he did in the 1906 encounter.
    stay safe buddy.

That and his style. Laying back, making Langford over reach and countering. Tying him up, walking him around. I think Langford would have been a relatively easy win for him. I just think hes all wrong for Langford.

No doubt Langford improved after their 1906 encounter, and no doubt Johnson did also, both added 20/ 25lbs of muscle to their frames . Its often said Johnson lost his condition and fitness after the Jeffries fight in1910 and there is truth in that he was never again in the shape he was for Jeff, but to take for granted that Langford was always at optimum weight then would be wrong, his weight fluctuated considerably. Prime for prime I think Johnson always beats Sam and so does his biographer Clay Moyle,Clay thinks Sams best weight was between 175lbs and 180lbs yet Sam was often in the 190's/
