Mi amigo, we speak like that because the amateurs are roughly 75% of a professional fighter's total experience. There have been a lot of " Cubans in the pros " that were very good amateurs that have done very well just because of their amateur experience. Diosbelys Hurtado fought the great P4P king Pernell Whitaker when he was just 20-0 and prior to that had'nt fought any real good names in his resume and he knocked down Whitaker 3 times and had the fight in his pocket until that very unfortunate moment where Whitaker hit Hurtado hard in the 11th round and stunned him, then finally KO'ing him. Hurtado was nothing special back in Cuba, and he was humiliating the best professional boxer in the World. Actually, he did win that Whitaker fight even though that he got KO'ed because no one had done so much damage to Pernell before and this " Cuban amateur " gave Pernell a true boxing lesson of hit and don't get hit... Other Cuban amateurs have done similarly just with their amateur experience. Did'nt you hear that recently a Cuban defector called " Humberto Savigne " who is a cruiserweight I believe in just his 2nd pro fight defeated by KO a very experienced professional fighter called " Epifanio Mendoza " who is 29-9 with 25 KO's!!! The Cuban KO'ed him... When Joel Casamayor was just 8-0, he defeated a very experienced pro boxer called Julio Gervacio who was 30-6 at that time!!! Amateur experience is 75% of a professional fighter, but it's not guaranteed success either, but if he trains hard in the pros and learns new professional techniques then he should also do very good in the pros. And no other boxers are better prepared than the Cubans when it comes to amateur experience! :good
This guy Angulo is just hype, even the limited Cintron gave him a boxing lesson. Lara would do even better, he will KO him something that Cintron could'nt do!!! Bring him on...
Plus, inside rumors say that Lara did'nt had proper training to prepare to fight Brewer as his Cuban coach Salas was very busy preparing Gamboa for the Mtagwa fight, I do believe that it's true as it came from an inside source. If Lara would had prepare properly with Salas, then he would have stopped Brewer much sooner! GUARANTEED.
Brewer was a nice step up, and Lara did a good job. The next step should be K-9, Ossie Duran, or Bronco McKart if he wins his next fight. Those guys may not take a fight with a 10-fight-prospect. I'm just saying someone of that calibre would seem like the next logical step.
