Floyds speed is the difference. While Lara is a bad style match up for Floyd, Floyd is also a bad style match up for Lara. Lara relies on his opponent being the aggressor, that is why he beat Trout so easily, Trout is a terrible aggressor. Floyd is too smart and too fast. He'll either force Lara to fight his fight, or he'll pot shot him all night with his superior speed.

    Best post of the day.

Trout abandoned his initial gameplan and played into the hands of the audience and tried to pursue a fight with Lara, who just picked him off time and time again.

People have to realize Trout is a defensive minded counterpuncher, as is Lara. People calling Trout garbage off yesterday's fight don't know what they're on about, he was just fighting the wrong fight, against the wrong opponent.

Trout will come again, his handlers needs to put him in against guys who are going to come for him.

 You think Trout trying to counterpunch Lara would have made a difference?

Lara is 10x the boxer Trout is. Bernard Hopkins said it best. Lara went to Harvard and Trout went to Community College.

Trout is a joke and now its time for him to disappear.

Didn't Vanes recently push Lara to a draw?

All five of those fighters are at weights that Mayweather has never been at. So I don't why your bringing them up. When you know they ain't gonna happen.

At least Lara is at 154. A division that Floyd holds a title currently and can make weight easily.

Lara is most certainly more slick than is Trout.

But the fight would've been even moreso boring had Trout fought the way he naturally does. He had the impatience to go and stalk Lara, big mistake from his part, and when he did he found himself behind on the scorecards, where he had to pursue even more and chase the points.

Lara picked him off, Trout is not a bad boxer, he was just in the ring with the wrong operator and he had the wrong mentality in there.

I'm not saying he'd have won, it would be a horrible snoozefest, worse than it was..

Cuban boxers like rigo, lara are in the same league as floyd, but they're even more boring to watch . Lara would give floyd nightmares , I see floyd vs lara as very very competitive fight.

I'd pick Floyd as always but imo Lara is by FAR the most difficult fight for Floyd. Think a much, much better and more disciplined version of the Judah that Floyd fought. With a size advantage. And mental fortitude.

It won't happen unless Lara beats Alvarez or Cotto, it just won't. But if it does, it'll be the most interesting Mayweather fight that can be made. The risk-reward value just isn't there right now though. Lara needs that big win first.

Rigo is very close to Floyd, Lara and the rest not so much. I'm telling you Lara made easy work of Trout because he forced him to fight a fight he doesn't normally fight. When he fights a natural aggressor, he doesn't do it as easily, see the Vanes and Perro fights.

You fail to realize that Lara made Trout do that.

Trout wanted to fight the way he usually does at the start, but he soon found out that it wasn't the way to beat someone like Lara. He couldn't touch Lara from the outside, that why he was forced to come forward. Of course, he then found himself at the uncomfortable position trying to do something he isn't used to do, therefore Lara made an easy work of him, but that was the only thing Trout could do. If Trout decided to fight his usual way, he would have never touched Lara, simple as that. Lara just proved he's in another league.
