I agree. He's quick and rangy enough to touch floyd often
because he can jab with him and land left straight counters.

not just floyd, the idea of the all around fighter- guys like mayweather, leonard, even ward seemingly- who are impeccable in every area. you can't outbox a guy like that unless you have much better physical gifts i.e. hearns

"Lara looked very good against Trout who just looked like he came for a payday. But if he were to take on Floyd he'd recognize probably by the 3rd or 4th round he's taking on a superior boxer with better defense, better handspeed and footspeed and better accuracy, timing and combination punching. "

Yup. Floyd's speed and footwork and skills are still superior.

ALSO there is no way they pair up Floyd with a guy who isn't Mexican and doesn't speak english. Smells of a PPV disaster. I as a fan of boxing skill would be extremely interested in the fight. What I want doesn't make the fights happen, it's what the casual fan wants to see. We got to see two very good fighters with high boxing ability fight last night and should be happy about that though.

Lara beats Mayweather 116-112 or 115-113.

Mayweather has never fought anyone with a significant reach advantage. My guess is he never will.

Floyd started his career at 130 lbs...Lara fought at 160 lbs in the amateurs.

All those fighter I named couldn't beat Floyd if they were in his natural weight class but the weight advantage will help them beat Floyd hence why he wouldn't move up to fight them.

Lara is a career 154 lber, why fight him especially when Floyd always weight like 150 in all 3 154 lbs appearances.

Floyd gave up his 154 title when he won it from Oscar because he not a 154 lber, he only goes up to 154 for BIG money fights...Lara is NOT big Money

If Lara was in Floyd natural weight class, Floyd would neutralize him...a guy that draws with Molina and Vanes, struggles with Angulo and losses to Paul Williams (questioable) (all good fighters but not ELITE) will not beat Floyd, who ring IQ is better than the aforementioned.

While I can see a possibility of Lara having some success against Floyd, I'm still envisioning Mayweather whopping him in the 117-111/118-110 range.

On the contrary, it's how he looked in certain fights (Molina, in particular) that has me all but convinced he will NOT beat Floyd.

of course trout lost...he was fighting a style that is completely uncharacteristic. he did it to make the fight at least a little bit interesting...or maybe you would prefer for him TO NOT engage lara both spend the whole fight circling each other and throw three punches per round?

my point is that lara took absolutely no chances in there...it was trout who made the fight all the way. if they fight again, i hope trout just lays back and lets lara come to him...lara's not gonna do that under any circumstances. so the fight would have zero action. maybe y'all would like that better.
