I'd like to see a Golovkin-Lara fight but the whole HBO/Haymon situation makes that fight highly unlikely.

Even if the fight was possible I don't think there is a huge demand for the fight. Lara isn't a middleweight and doesn't bring a big enough fanbase to jump ahead of some of Golovkin's other options.

If Lara truly wants a Golovkin fight, HBO/Haymon issues aside, then he needs to do something to make it happen.

Fighting Smith and Rodriguez isn't going to force the fight. Move to 160 and beat some top guys to build up the demand.

There are a lot of middleweights that are able to fight on PBC cards-Quillen, Jacobs, Lee, N'Dam(if he beats Lemieux), Rubio, Macklin. Beat some of those guys , instead of Smith and Rodriguez, and fight more than twice a year and maybe the interest in a Golovkin-Lara fight will be there.

This site is about 90% trolls, so that is all we would see around here. I like Lara and would enjoy this match up on account of it giving us a good idea of where GGG stands against a top boxer, but Lara brings nothing to the table atm at 160. If he really wanted this fight, he would have made a play for a belt at MW a year or so ago and worked his way up instead of his current "call out" approach. If he had a belt at 160, I have no doubt GGG would make that fight.

Andrade has been a disappointment to be honest. After his win over Vannes I thought he would be on to bigger and better things.

Lara talks the smack, but he doesn't seem to have a 12 round gas tank when someone is pressuring him. Once those legs go, it's target practice. He must really have something up his sleeve to have those type of *****. Lara is a small 154 pounder, build wise. Not sure how he thinks he will move up and outbox Golovkin, when he had trouble keeping Angulo off of him. He would really have to be sitting down on the straight left hand.

Exactly, Lara will be referred as "blown-up LMW" if GGG beats him. He'll never get full approval unless he beats bot Froch and Ward.

Why would GGG duck anyone? He's the complete boxer, I have no doubt he would wipe the floor with Lara.

After Lara's schooling of Canelo the logical next fight in line was Ggg. Everyone is gonna dodge Lara for awhile.

sure, angulo dropped lara twice...and canelo went 12 rounds with lara and couldn't drop him once. and lara outboxed canelo over 12. so, why do fools think lara-ggg would be more like lara-angulo and less like lara-canelo? is that because it's what they WANT to believe?

Isn't canelo considered a MUCH better fighter than angulo? Isn't canelo considered a pretty good bet to beat ggg? and canelo couldn't drop lara ONCE in 12 rounds?...and canelo LOST that fight?

I could say that if murray and monroe were able to land at will on ggg, it means lara would dominate ggg...

That's why the actually FIGHT The fights... bullschit speculation doesn't determine what happens in the ring.

What amazes me is that Lara is a carbon copy of Mayweather . Yet folk that proclaim Mayweather as TBE & ATG etc diss Lara . What is the reason for that?? To me the only difference in them is Mayweather has Vegas/ NSAC backing

Lara is nowhere near the technician that mayweather is.

Lara literally runs away while hes losing a fight but floyd is too much of a competitor to not be in control of a fight.

Lara is also 1 dimensional compared to floyd who can do it all.

Earnie was a devastating puncher & was hell for anyone for 6 rounds. After that he faded due to lack of stamina
Interesting story from Tex Cobb He said Earnie was the only man he fought that made him want to quit. Every punch shook him head to toe. I met Earnie in Dallas & he said about Tex "That man must have concrete poured into that chin I hit him harder than Ive hit guys & knocked them cold. Tex just grinned & said' That the best you got Earnie" They had great respect for each other & became good friends
