I agree with what Lara says 100% . About the loser & the pics ? I believe Lara beat Canelo first time but Oscars $$ & influence got Canelo a win he didn't deserve :smoke

Of course Golovkin is an elite fighter. He is the #1 fighter in his division. At worst he is an elite MW.

Lara is also elite being the #1 fighter in his division, and having a very respectful resume.

Golovkin lacks the latter. Lara has more of an argument at being elite than Golovkin who has not been testes, nor does he chase after tests.

On the contrary, I reserve the elite status for the very best. All top 10 P4P fighters are elite, and any fighter that is #1 and /or dominates his division is elite.

Hows about the 35 yaer old againg man starts chasing the Legacy building fights whether at 154, 168, or 175 instead of waiting, or dragging fighters up to his desolated division.

If he can make an offer to a Welter Weight, surely he can make one to the #1 or #2 Jr. MW.

lara has a point here, he is boring, canelo is being a p#$%^ in the ggg situation and has lost a ton of mexican fans. can't argue with those points.

 

Just being #1 should not make you elite. That's why I think the word is used too inconsistently here. It's about who you beat, and what level you are consistently on. Key word consistent. Anyone can win a belt, but only real elite champions hold on to them for periods of time with successful defenses.

 

Canelo gave Lara a shot, and Lara stunk the joint up.

Canelo also clowned Lara in the presser and had the entire audience laugh Lara off stage.. That was very humiliating and hilarious
