What has Lara accomplished to make you say Floyd beating him improves his ranking. Lara hasn't won a title yet in any weight class.

I have both charlo brothers and Demetrius beating him.

I rate Austin Trout.Couldnt separate him and Canelo.Lara beat him. Some say he beat Paul Williams. He has a good record. And,you'll laugh at this,he's Cuban and not a fat heavyweight.

i think when guys make threads like these...their right to make a thread should be revoked until they prove capable of understanding the sport of boxing.

What????? Since when does a belt mean anything? Lara's resume eats both Charlos and Booboos resumes. Neither Charlo has a belt and Andrade won a vacant belt. What have any of the 3 you named done for you to say they are better?

I wouldn't say that Mayweather's distance control and timing would be that significant either, since Lara does those same things extremely good too. In my opinion Lara is better on the outside, therefore I believe he'd have the advantage. However, I'm not confident that that he would win, but still I believe that he would manage to do that if they fought.

Man, what a bunch of delusional morons.

Lara is nothing like Corrales. Corrales is a mid-range fighter who like to fight at close range. He never used his height or reach advantage. He was a puncher and he's quite good at spitting out his mouthpiece.

Lara is a pure boxer who happens to be a southpaw, the type of fighter Floyd don't like fighting at all.

Corrales just walked forward with little thought to his game. Lara wouldn't do that. he'd keep it at centre ring and try to pick his spots or try and get Floyd to be the one coming forward while Lara gets his counter shots off.

so no way he gets dominated the way Diego did.

Lara is one of the few that could give Floyd a real run for his money. hey, he could actually beat him if he brings the right game plan. he's naturally the bigger guy.

Floyd wouldn't touch him with a barge pole though. it's far too risky for him. and we all know about Floyd and risks don't we.

well Lara has the much better resume out of him and Canelo.

the Trout win is all Canelo has. Lara smacked him down with ease.

so if he can get a fight with Floyd, then damn right Lara should get one.

When has Floyd looked good vs. a southpaw? A prime Mayweather has his issue's with Judah?

In this fight Floyd would have to play the aggressor role and you'd have a skills chess match. Lara is bigger and has that straight left hand equilizer.

It's evidently a difficult fight for him. Another dumb thread by another dumb *****.

so let me get this straight : @154

Floyd Mayweather (as gifted as he is) is going to knock a fully fledged Jr.Middleweight down 5 times and stop him.

Oscar De La Hoya - No knockdowns, went to a SD
Miguel Cotto - No knockdowns (although being wobbled late in the fight)
Saul Alvarez - No knockdowns, stunned

Oscar was older by this point on his comeback and a genuine light middle
Cotto was a former 140/147 fighter, past his prime and had not beaten an actual Jr.Middle besides an old Mayorga (Foreman/Margarito)
Alvarez made a career of beating up on Welterweights but in all fairness just about beat no doubt trout

In fact lets go deeper : 147

Besides Victor Ortiz who was the last person Mayweather knocked down (You cant count it legitimately because although legal it hit Ortiz when he wasnt looking) so Guerrero was on his feet, Mosley was on his feet (even hurt floyd) . . . . . so then we get to Marquez in 2009 who has a habit of getting dropped in fights and was brought up all the way from 135. Hatton bull rushed in and got caught head first into the ring post.

Badlomir and Judah both went the full distance with floyd

So here we are, Floyd although a great defensive boxer and arguably the best P4P does not have the power to knock down a big guy once let alone 5 times, dont get me wrong its still decent power to keep guys like Alvarez off of him but no dice

Then we have Erislandy Lara, a guy who can punch a lot harder than floyd (making Angulo quit from a severely swollen eye) was robbed against Paul Williams and the only real blemishes on his record are Matiroysan and Molina (Both Draws) Molina being the now IBF Champion, Matiroysan losing out to Andrade for the vacant WBO

Lara is by no means a bum, he got put down twice by Angulo (arguably one of the biggest punchers in the divison) got back up and stopped him, and that was because Angulo was forcing the fight. He dominated Trout in dropping him twice to pick up the vacant WBA.

Honestly Lara is not perfect but with his style and power right now he is Floyds biggest realistic threat (not counting anyone above 154)

Pacquiao would get outboxed for 12 full rounds and clowned
Khan will likely get stopped later on in the fight when he rushes in ala hatton
Maidana although rugged would be countered all night
Thurman is still somewhat of an unknown entity at the moment (needs to fight guys like Maidana/Alexander)

So honestly Lara can be beaten by floyd, but he aint getting knocked out and it aint gonna be easy

your for real huh? your scenario is wrong in everyway. PBF and Lara have a similar boxing style no way PBF will go right at Lara. This will be a boxing match all the way thru.
