Erislandy Lara has become my second favorite boxer in the sport. I met him and had a brief conversation with him after his destruction of Hearns. He seems to be a very humble and nice guy as I complimented him on his victory he bowed in a very thankful manner. Ronnie(Shields) is very proud of what he has. I told Erislandy that he is a future world champion and if ever given the opportunity that he would be just that. I wish him the very best.

They are both for the fight, and once again about Canelo, wtf he has done to deserve a belt and not defend it against a worthy opponent, why because he is a white boy from Mexico? There's plenty white ppl in Mexico, answer this, which boxer he has fought to be on top? He is a creation of the WBC and the Mexican media, and again De Cubas doesn't want the fight between them not because Lara will lose, it is because what will be next for Lara, and of course he want to squeeze every penny out an overachiever like Molina, there''s no daddy there's no son, you know a lot about boxing but stating that $h1t it is only that, $h1t...

Must say i was impressed with Canelo against Mosley. He deserve being considered one of the best,A great weight class. Lara,Trout, Canelo. If you add Mayeather and Martinez you got the most exiting weightclass in boxing.
And i did not mention Williams,Dzinziruk,Angulo,Kirkland

If Lara was white, Mexican or a mouthy African American he'd be a millionaire. He's too good for his own good.

I don't understand why people think Molina is on Lara's level. True enough they had a draw, but lets be honest here. Even though Lara didn't have his trainer in his corner, had a tooth removed two days before and coming off a fever, he still didn't get beat by a sloppy fighter who's offense is to clinch before he is hit. Time will show these doubters what is real.

The Mexicans fanatics are holding that fight like is the image of Guadalupe, they had change everything about the fight, they even post that Molina make Lara his *****, when in true the better punches of the fight were land it by Lara and he hurt Molina in the 8 or 9 round, they completely avoid the subject that Lara was sick and didn't train properly because Shields was off to Ireland with Rigondeaux, and because the rematch hasn't happen they think is Lara's fault, I want that fight so bad but that De Cubas SOB wants Lara in the MW division now, I hope they don't listen to him because I think he is getting pay to keep Lara out of Canelo's path, shame on De Cubas, GBP Sulaiman and the WBC, and that little red ridding hood should open his mouth and demand a worthy opponent, but not he is too busy beating down flyweights and old men...

Lara is a tremendous fighter and seems to be a great person. He does deserve to be getting some bigger fights, but we all know this sport is a huge business. If anyone is to blame for his lack of exposure, it's his fans. The cubans need to show a lot more support for their own because he is relatively unknown to the casuals. He won't be getting any BIG fights against Cotto or Canelo soon unless he garners more attention. Cotto refused to fight Martinez because "supposedly" Martinez wasn't very known and the fight wouldn't be good enough monetary wise. If Cotto thinks Martinez is unknown then Lara doesn't even exist.

As much **** as the Cubans and the haters like to give Canelo, it's not his fault that he is being touted as the next big thing. He does what he is supposed to. His manager and promoter take care of the match making, and again guess what Promoters always do what is best for their BUSINESS. Lara, although skilled, doesn't bring much money to the table, so therefore he isn't as looked out for as a ever-growing draw like Canelo.

Lara sure doesn't sound like it's something he still wants in this interview: http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/espndeportesradio/play?id=1524759&s=deportes
It's especially laughable hearing him ask what Molina's done since that fight when the exact same thing could be said about him.
