http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqbg3_pzqnU here is the link and as always i will take responsability for giving you the most accurate translation i can, not word by word but a pretty good overview He said when he first walked in the gym and mayweather looked at him he said mayweather was saying that lara was just a kid and he was going against a lion. Once i got in the ring it was all business and i almost ko'd him. they stopped the fight in round 7. Even after that bout he was supposed to come for more sparring sessions but the hatton camp requested for him not to come back because he was hitting "too hard" lara also stated that as far as he was aware he was just hitting him pretty average and wasnt trying to harm hatton, he was basically sparring the same way he always does. He said he never really felt any pressure from hatton during the session" if i mistyped something or wasnt clear enough in something feel free to correct me latins but i think i did a decent job. anyways there it is guys. i know there had been rumors but there is the word from the man.
this is what someone else translated in some other forum i think he was more specific than me lol He says he was sitting in the gym and Hattons' team came to choose a sparring partner and they saw him and choose him and Hatton said, that's just a kid... But they still sparred. Lara says he was doing his usual routine, not trying to fight too hard and anything like that... And that he almost knocked him out without actually wanting to do so. Hattons' team stopped the sparring session at round seven because Hatton was taking too much damage. And they sparred another time but it didn't last long because Lara got fired because they said he was hitting too hard. Lara says he didn't understand what they meant because he was hitting as he always did in sparring, not that hard. After that he says he didn't understand how Hatton went that far (in his pro career), that he wasn't all that like he thought before sparring with him. And then they asked him if he expected the PacMan outcome and he said "totally", after sparring him he didn't expect big things from him. Now of course, Lara is naturally bigger than Hatton that's a fact. However, I think we should take his word as the truth. Lara is a humble dude, he never talks shiet like that.
This dude also says that he doesnt know any of the fighters form his division (including the top ones) and never even watches tape , when he steps on the ring that's the first time he ever sees them. I wasnt posting this so people talk **** about hatton, i just posted it cuz i knew there had been rumors
Thats very interesting. Roach also commented on the fact that Hatton did not allow sparring sessions to be shown in 24/7 and I think Hatton appeared in an interview with a black eye pre fight.
just shows how good he is, cause hes been doing this his whole life and his accomplishment in the amateurs. hell be the future of boxing, alongside korobov. hell, they might be rivals in the future
well anyone of the 1000 Hatton crybabies want to respond, oh I see, no use stirring **** on a known fact that Hatton was getting his ass waxed while even just sparring. lots of good sparring in the States not like those Mannequins he was used to pounding back home.
I think this kid is the goods, he is very fundamentally sound and has all of the qualities of a champion, i cant wait to see how he does against the Angulo's, Martinez's ect. For the person who state that Lara is a middleweight, IMO he has the frame of a welterweight. The size difference between him and Hatton is not that big.
Look at the last part of the Pac- Hatton 24/7 where they showed some footage of the Hatton sparring sessions, Hatton got hit a lot.
Put Lara in the Wild Card Gym, and he'll make a few thousand bucks in no time. :yep Somewhere I read before the fight that Lara gave hell to the Hitman, maybe it was Roach (!) who said it. Understandable, Lara is a very strong, very explosive, young and fast LMW, why wouldn't he give Hatton trouble? But with that said, it's another proof that Ricky's punch resistence has dropped somewhat. The 3rd knockdown in the Pac fight was as brutal as the sport can offer, but he almost went down face first after the first clean right hand, and the 2nd knockdown punch didn't even land clean. Oh well, great experience for Lara, not so great for Hatton.
