His career, being dangerous and underestimated, his fight with Vanes Maritrosyan, and some bitter words about „Canelo” i Vanes – Erislandy Lara (17-1-1, 11 KO) interview for BOXINGBET.

BoxingBet: Are you happy about your performance against Freddy Hernandez? Did he surprise you, or did everything go according to plan?
Erislandy Lara: I won the fight and my career's moving forward, that's most important. Nothing surprised me, I was dictating the fight and saw all the signalised punches.Hernandez took some rounds because of his activity, but he didn't cause me trouble.

BB: Last year you got robbed against Paul Williams and an opportunity to fight for the WBC championship. Because of his motorcycle accident, Paul will not return to boxing, are you dissapointed that you won't get a rematch?

EL: It's unfortunate that Williams has that accident and I pray for him so everything will be better. Our fight was in the past though, I'm only looking at the future.

BB: Your style isn't pretty for the eye, but it looks like you are underrated in the USA. Do you agree?

EL: Of course I agree. I'm the best fighter at 154 in the world, and nobody wants to fight me. I'm a big risk, low reward fighter, but they can't all avoid me for ever.

BB: You said you are ready to fight Canelo Alvarez. But his team rejected your offer, why?

EL: Like I said before, I'm a high risk low reward fightger, so they all do everything they can to avoid fighting me. Canelo isn't a real Latin fighter and he's popular only because he's white. If he ever decides to get into the ring with me, I'll show him the difference between a man and a boy, or in his special case, a man and a ***.

BB: In 2008 you and a few of your countrymen defected. You won a lot as a boxer, but you lost your homeland. Do you regret this?

EL: Why should I? I'm building a succesful boxing career and I'm doing everything for my family.

BB: One of your friends is Odlanier Solis. Do you think he has what it takes to make noise at heavyweight? He's very talented, but he doesn't seem to train hard and carries a lot of weight…

EL: Odlanier is a great fighter and still has a bright future ahead of him.

BB: What's next? Canelo doesn't want to fight you. Any ideas?

EL: I need to keep winning and be patient. I'm now fighting Martirosyan, who's been ducking me for years. Looks like this scared Armenian won't be running any longer. If this fight happens, I promise to knock out this crying child, so he'll be calling me 'daddy'.

BB: Would you like to say anything to Polish fans and the readers at BoxingBet.pl?

EL: I respect and thank all fans of boxing for supporting this beautiful sport. I'm frustrated that the sport is infested with garbage, especially some of the european fighters. Vanes, I'm coming for you *****. Daddy will punish you for being a naughty child. And you Canelo, you're next, after I thrash this ***.

yeah, pretty harsh on Vanes and Canelo :deal
