lara is one of my favorites...but why all the hate?

watching erislandy lara put on a masterpiece of scientific boxing against ishe smith was a privilege...lara is one of the best in the world. i rank him #4 pfp after fmj, rigo and ward.

he beat canelo and paul williams both convincingly. he beat molina and trout...and he just beat smith. he's the best jmw. if he was a white ee or a mexican he would be hailed as the next fmj...instead, his accomplishments and ability get trivialized.

so, what's up with all the hate for this guy? the whole time he was schooling smith all the announcers did was deride his style of fighting, talk all kinds of **** about the man...dude was DOMINATING a recent world champ in his prime. i had lara winning EVERY round....smith is no slouch...smith belongs in the top 5 at jmw. lara made him look like a clubfighter.

is this what boxing has come to? the best fighters get ****ped on?...the most talented and accomplished guys in the sport get demeaned instead of praised? they should giving lara is props....instead they're dissing him for being so talented that he shuts the other guys down. no wonder boxing is in the toilet these days....this is the only sport that discredits its best people and promote garbage fighters folr being "exciting" which is just another way of saying they're limited.

boxing owes more to lara than some snide a-holes demeaning the real master practitioners of this sport.

 

so, by "fight" i take it you mean "toe to toe" exchanges, taking and giving and seeing who falls first? in that case, i presume your idol is angulo and you don't understand the reason for having a ring. this is the sport of boxing....not the sport of barroom brawling. the thing is, anybody can go in there and just swing away without regard to their personal safety...that calls for zero skills or abilty. that's not boxing... if you're a fan of boxing, all you require is that he WIN...the fact that he does so with as little damage as possible to his body should make him so much more respected.

 

clearly lara beats ggg...lara is better than ggg in every way including the level of his competition.

 

clearly you think the lumps on smith's face got there by accident. smith has never been ko'ed or even dropped in a fight...lara completely shut out smith who is a legit top 5 jmw and a receent champ...and you're b1ching because lara didn't KO him? you serious?

this is the most bull**** comment ever...so, he's not exciting because he's not knocking everybody dead? wtf....are you like 12 years old? some of the greatest fighters in history weren't KO artists....lara is an elite fighter who knocked out angulo (and effectively destroyed angulo), knocked out grady brewer and dropped austin trout...don't make it sound like he's some featherfisted runner.

 

like i said, if lara was a white fighter or a mexican and he had ko'd angulo, dropped trout, beat canelo, williams, smith, etc all very convincingly, he'd be the biggest star in boxing after fmj. he's the best jmw on the planet.... that should get him some respect...but being a black cuban, he can't catch a break and he's even got the showtime announcers talking about him like he's some re****ed child.
