I don't necessarily disagree with you as I do believe Top Rank is better at promoting fighters than GBP or any other organization for that matter. However, here are the problems with Top Rank: - They pay their fighters less than GBP - In recent years they have tried to bake more cakes than make good fights - They negotiate from a position of arrogance and do not care about the overall health of the sport
I can understand Lara being frustrated that he hasn't gotten another big fight after the Williams match, but overall I think he's done ok. He landed a main event fight on HBO, in his 17th fight, coming off a draw against Molina(which happened to be televised by ESPN). I obviously don't know all his details but I think he's done ok so far, clearly not the greatest promoted fighter in history but not bad as of now. Being frustrated at this moment makes sense but it seems a bit early to totally slam his promoter since they have had some success with him.
He was thrown to the Lions, GBP was cashing out and clearing the path for Canelo that was his "Main Event", they never thought that he could do that to Williams and now they don't know what to do, Molina's fight was a fluke because all the things that he went through in training (Lara) and I'm sure they will fight again but for a little bit more than bragging rights, and Molina will get clubbed....
