I'd like to see this fight but I don't see it happening anytime soon, a lot of risk to reward here for Alvarez. I think Alvarez's next couple opponents come from the likes of Mayorga, Gomez, Bundrage, or someone along those lines. I can see HBO looking to put Lara back on but I doubt Williams wants anything to do with him again. Since HBO still owes Dzinziruk a fight(I think) then make Dzinziurk-Lara, its a good competitive fight that doesn't break HBO's bank.

I'd be really surprised, and impressed, if GBP put Canelo in with Lara. I think they'll match him a little more carefully though I'm sure they'd be happy to put Lara in with anyone at 154.

Re-matches with Molina or Williams, or even Dzinziruk would be ok for Lara. Maybe then he could get a shot at Cotto.

I think Canelo will face his mandatory challengers while GBP stay on the lookout for big name fighters who wouldn't have a good chance of victory.

 

Lara by decision in a competitive fight, I feel. More experience, better fundamentals, comparable physical talents, and a well-polished defensive style to accompany a smart and varied offense. Canelo would bring all he's got and make it competitive , but Lara would take it, without getting caught badly.

Unless he got robbed again.

 

How about a Canelo-Williams, K9-Lara double, winners meet early next year? Makes sense. There's no reason to watch Lara school that ass again and could pick up a belt which would come valuable later and Canelo could get a high profile fight.

 

Looks better to me, I'll b surprise if PW fights Lara again, I think the only reason he didn't end it up on the mat was because the weight that he had on Lara.

Canelo will get exposed big time and will need a reconstructive surgery after the fight. Rhodes was a punching bag, either he was paid to get a beating or the guy was never a decent fighter and hatton is WW with no punching power that has no business fighting for a belt at 154, Chavez and Canelo had received early Christmas gift with those belts, either fight a real fighter or do what Johns has done, disappear from the boxing scene.
